Let's just say, you're going to lose your skin

It seems that Epic Games has come to the realization that even though cosmetics aren't like guns, where there are obvious advantages if you have access to a gun and someone else doesn't before the match even begins. They believe that skins do give enough advantage to win.

Here is their shocking announcement:

Ladies and gentlemen, we at Epic Games have made an important decision that will revolutionize the way you play Fortnite. Starting next season, we will be removing all player skins from the game and giving every player a brand new generic skin that you don't even have to earn instead!

We know that skins have been a beloved part of the Fortnite experience for years, but we believe that it's time for a change. From now on, every player will be given the same basic skin, a generic hero with no defining features or unique designs.

We know you're in disbelief, and we know you don't understand. But believe us when we say that we know best.

This new skin will come with a host of benefits! For one, it will make the game fairer and more balanced. No longer will players be able to hide in the shadows or blend in with the environment, giving them an unfair advantage.

No longer do you have to worry about playing your favorite skin at the cost of strategy. Everyone will be on an equal playing field, with the same skin and the same chance to win. Isn't that a load off your chest?

Plus, think of all the time and money you'll save! No more endless scrolling through the item shop, trying to find the perfect skin. No more worrying about whether your skin matches your pickaxe or your glider. With the generic skin, you'll always look the same, no matter what gear you're using.

No one can make fun of you now. And that's what's important.

We know that this may be a controversial decision, but we believe that it's for the best. We hope that you'll embrace the new generic skin and enjoy the fairer, simpler Fortnite experience that it brings.

Thank you for playing Fortnite, and remember - it's not about the skin, it's about the gameplay!

As you might imagine, the internet has gone into a full-blown frenzy over Epic's announcement to remove all player skins from Fortnite. Some players are so upset that they're threatening to organize a "Skin Strike" and to just use the generic skins they're given when you first start playing the game in protest.

On social media, the memes are flying fast and furious. Some are joking that they'll have to resort to playing "Generic Man" instead of their favorite skins. Others are speculating that this is all part of Epic's grand plan to turn Fortnite into a minimalist, art-house game that only hipsters will appreciate. And hipsters have, in fact, flooded the game at the announcement in hopes of this outcome.

Some players are convinced that Epic is secretly working on a revolutionary new skin technology that will make all previous skins obsolete. Others are convinced that this is all a ploy to distract us from the fact that Epic is secretly controlled by aliens. And a fringe group believes that Donald Trump is positioned to buy Epic Games for the sole purpose of making it great again.

All in all, it's safe to say that the internet is not taking this news lightly. With all the choices that life already throws at us, who knows, maybe the new generic skin will surprise us all and become the hottest new fashion trend in the gaming world!
