Welcome, Dragon Ball fans!!

I hope you all are having a fantastic week!

I have some amazing Dragon Ball gaming news for you guys!

Season 2 of Dragon Ball Fighter Z is here!

Dragon Ball Fighter Z just released the gameplay trailer reveal for both Jiren and Videl. Plus, Dragon Ball Legends released gameplay for both Kale and Caulifla. In addition, Dokkan Battle announced that both LR Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta will be coming soon.

Today, I will do a breakdown of these exciting Dragon Ball game news and share my thoughts about them.

So without further ado, let’s dive right in!

Jiren’s gameplay trailer starts off with him meditating before he gets in his zone and fight. Jiren is so powerful he levitates everything around him when he's thinking.

He is standing and looking like a boss as rocks crumbles behind him. Next, Jiren says, “All is possible with power and power alone.”

Jiren unleashed a massive super at Goku.

To start the fight, we see Jiren using medium combos on Goku. We have standing, crouching mediums, a special move, and super. Thankfully, Jiren’s super does seem to travel across the screen and it looks very useful in his combos.

Parry Attack

In this shot here, we see a fullscreen parry attack. This could work against normals, too. I bet you can vanish extend the parry for a full combo.

Level 1 Super

Here we see a level 1 that hits right in front of Jiren, which has a great amount of damage. He also has two level 1s at minimum.

Physical Parry Counter

Next, we see a physical parry where Jiren counters attacks. I guarantee that vanish is used to extend this parry counter attack.

Auto Combo

This move here could be an auto combo since it’s very cinematic. I think this combo was three lights in the auto combo.

Command Grab

Next, we see a two-light button into a command grab. Jiren has command grabs just like Broly. I bet this grab takes vanish to extend in the corner, possibly a wall bounce.

Level 3 Super

Then we see a gigantic level 3 super from Jiren.

This level 3 move looks very cinematic and cool looking. It looks like this move does a lot of damage, although it has a short range.

This move is going to be a bit tough to combo into in certain situations. Seeing Jiren unleashing his level 3 super move looks really cool.

That’s basically it for Jiren.

My honest thoughts and opinions on him is he seems to have a very fun toolkit. From what we’ve seen, Jiren has at least two counter attacks and a command grab as well. He seems to have a lot of fun set of moves. I can’t wait to get my hands on him.

I am someone who find Jiren very exciting in the Dragon Ball Super series. This gameplay of Jiren definitely changed my mind. His move-set looks like a lot of fun.

I can’t wait to experiment with him in training mode and online. Wren’s normals look pretty solid. We might not have seen all of his special moves. Jiren could’ve gotten tons of attacks we haven’t seen yet.

Let’s move on to Videl!

Videl is a character I might actually be more excited about in Dragon Ball Fighter Z. Videl’s play style seems very similar to Android 18, in terms of summoning a character. Videl can summon Gohan as an assist without having him as a separate character.

Furthermore, Gohan has several special moves devoted to just him. Even adding his super move helps Videl defeat strong fighters. Now, Videl can call Gohan for help when she is in danger, which is very useful.

If you guys have both Android 18 and Videl on your team, you’re going to have four assists instead of just two.

That’s going to be crazy!!

Auto Combo

To start off the fight, we see Videl using a massive combo on Majin Buu. However, this move could also be an auto combo.

This shot here had me super excited.

This combo looks very cinematic.

What if this was a special move into a super. Videl could then combo after this move here because she does “super dash” after landing this combo.

What if this move is a level 1 super that she can just super dash after to extend the combo.

That would be awesome to see.

Videl knocks down Majin Buu.

Next, we see Videl knocks Majin Buu down and does a vanish move. Nothing too special there, but she does spike with a regular heavy. I guess we should mention that she can do a three-light to spike the opponent.

Videl doesn’t need a special move like Vegito.

So that’s always nice.

Videl knocks Majin Buu against the wall.

Next up, we see Videl using her auto combo, where she smacks Buu against the wall and can likely super dash after that.

The Great Saiyaman has arrived!

This is where we see the “Great Saiyaman.” This move looks like a counter of some kind. Since the screen looks dark, it looks like this is a super and I sure hope it is.

This animation looks impeccable!!

A Cute Image of Gohan & Videl

Then we see a cute shot here of Videl and Gohan standing next to each other. This solidifies that they are a team here. You’re playing as both characters and Bandai Namco wants to make that very clear.

Videl is not alone in this fight.

Next up, we see a series of special moves that summons the “Great Saiyaman.” Once again, this tag-team sequence is similar to Android 17 with Android 18.

Videl's Wake Up Super

Just like Frieza, it looks like Videl has a wake up only super, where you hold down when you’re on the floor. When you get up, you do a super right away. Judging by this giant Kamehameha wave, I imagine this costs three bars like Frieza.

That’s pretty cool!!

I always love when characters have this summon as an option. Unlike Frieza’s super, this super hist across the entire floor, which is going to be very useful.

Can you imagine an opponent trying to do a beam blast and you hit them with this super?

It’s going to be so useful, especially for catching assists as well.

This is going to be so cool!!

Videl's Level 3 Super

Next, we see Videl’s level 3 super.

This could be an assist into a super.

I imagine this is just a level 3 super with a screw freeze and some hits. The cinematic shot in the end here looks awesome. This shot here of both Videl and Gohan delivering a double-dive kick, is very reminiscent of “Evangelion.”

The double-dive kick looks really good. I guess that’s Videl’s level 3 super, which is very useful. From what we’ve seen, Videl has at least two level 3 supers.

Videl & Gohan's Signature Pose

Lastly, we have a cute ending shot here of Videl and Gohan. That’s basically it for Videl. My honest thought and opinions on Videl is she seems to have the same summon technique like Android 17. However, she can also summon Gohan just like Android 18 can.

Videl is far more versatile and quick on her feet.

Not to mention that she has a level 3 super from wake-up and a super dash after landing a combo, which is fantastic. How awesome would that be if Videl had a level 1 super where you can super dash after landing a combo.

I’m really looking forward to playing Videl!!

Both Jiren and Videl will be playable on January 31!!

Now Bandai Namco just released gameplays of both Kale and Caulifla in Dragon Ball Legends. Kale is in her Berserk state and Caulifla is in her Super Saiyan 2 state.

These two Saiyans are great additions.

In Kale's character description, it reads:

"When changing cover, she interrupts enemy combo by destroying enemy Arts cards! Together with her Intimidate skill, she poses an enormous threat! Despite possessing an uncontrollable power, she's tough also on defense!"

Basically, there is nothing you can do to stop Kale. Her "uncontrollable power" alone can create more defense and unleash deadly attacks. Kale is a character I would add to my team.

In Caulifla's character description, it reads:

"An all-out attacker who deals tons of Strike damage, especially against Saiyans! Raise Strike Atk even further with her Special Skill "I Can Feel The Tingle!" She's a key fighter in the up-and-coming Female Warrior team!"

This solidifies that Caulifla can go all-out with only Saiyans and no other fighter. This can be problematic if she face a non-Saiyan warrior. Also, Caulifla is a "key fighter" for an upcoming "Female Warrior" team, which is very exciting.

Imagine having Super Saiyan 2 Caulifla, "Berserk" Kale, and Android 18 on your team.

The final Dragon Ball news of the day is the gameplay reveal of LR Super Saiyan 4 Goku in Dokkan Battle. Now Dokkan Battle released a statement that reads:

"Coming soon! [The arrival point of the strongest Saiyan] Super Saiyan 4 Son Goku [LR] pre-published such as Super special moves and active skills!"

This indicates that LR Super Saiyan 4 Goku is coming soon to Dokkan Battle. Also, Goku will have special moves and active skills in his arsenal.

This is exciting news!!

There are so many Dragon Ball games out there and I don't know which one I will play next. I will do whatever it takes to get LR Super Saiyan 4 Goku.

Next up, is LR Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta's gameplay reveal and it looks awesome. Dokkan Battle also released a statement about the arrival of Vegeta and it reads:

"Coming soon! [Top of the Saiyan boasting invincible] Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta [LR] advance public such as Super special moves and active skills!"

Basically, this is the exact same description LR Super Saiyan 4 Goku, but with different names. Imagine having both STR LR Super Saiyan 4 Goku and Vegeta on your team with another STR LR warrior. That would create massive problems for other opponents who have a TEQ team.

I'm so hyped right now!

This is going to be a fantastic year for Dragon Ball fans.

This concludes my breakdown of gameplay trailers Jiren, Videl, Kale, Caulifla, LR Super Saiyan 4 Goku, and LR Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta.

Stay tuned for more Dragon Ball news!
