What is Core?

Core is a digital arcade playground of endless free-to-play online video games. Developed and operated by Manticore Games, a company established by industry veterans from Electronic Arts, Blizzard, Respawn, Xfire, Roblox, Trion Worlds, Crystal Dynamics and Zynga, and based in San Mateo, California, Core was released as an open Alpha version on March 16th 2020, becoming available as Early Access on April 15th 2021.

Core Gaming

Based on the similar user-generated gaming platform concept as Roblox, Core is designed for older teen and adult audiences.

The minimum age requirement to access games and content is 13 years old. However, since games and content are accessible to all users regardless of age, if, the game or content contains elements of a "mature" nature, they do encourage it to be included in the game's or content's description.

Core comes with an integrated game creation system designed to simplify video games in order to allow more individuals to develop games and communities to unleash imaginations and explore new experiences.

Do I need to know Lua (or any) programming language to create or play in Core?

Nope! It is not necessary to know any programming languages. Though, many creators enjoy using Lua as an additional customization tool in their projects. Also, if you are interested, they even have an Academy to learn game design and development.

Does Core run on Mac?

Core is officially supported on Windows 10. However, many users have had success running Core on Mac via Bootcamp. Please be aware that Support can only provide assistance for running on Windows 10.

What is the file download size for the Core Launcher?

The file download size for the Core Launcher is ~2.5GB. Once installed, the Launcher requires ~5GB of disk space.
