Brotherhood is the next to be released in the Assassin’s Creed games. Here we have Desmond continuing the story where we last left off. After escaping the Templars attack they all flee to Monteriggioni. Making a new safehouse and hideout location in the ruins of the Villa Auditore. Quite fitting since he will be returning to Ezio’s life as well as earning more about the Brotherhood.

After restoring the electricity in the old tunnels under the Villa we re-enter Ezio’s life. Now their mission to find the Apple is more important than ever. Especially with the impending doom that is coming in the few short months ahead. There is no time to waste for any of them.

Returning to 1499, Ezio is confused by everything that took place in the Vault. Ezio escapes Rome with his uncle and returns to Monteriggioni. Finally home and comforted by the fact that his personal vendetta is completed he receives news. Niccolò Machiavelli challenges Ezio’s decision to leave Rodrigo Borgia alive. After spending the night with Caterina Sforza spends the night with one another he wakes New Year Day to issues.

Monteriggioni is besieged by Cesare Borgia. Who is the son of Rodrigo. His uncle is killed at the hands of Cesare himself. During this the Apple ends up in the hands of Cesare and the Templars. Ezio, injured, ends up escaping and travels to Rome. There the Templars are in power over Italy. Vengeance is once again sparked to life within Ezio. As he plans to fight against the Borgias once more.

He also discovers that the Assassins are failing in their fight against corruption. Making Ezio determined to rebuild the guild. Ezio convinces Machiavelli that he has more than what it takes to lead all the while re-assembling the Brotherhood. A Brotherhood that will be powerful enough to destroy the Templars. As well as his new foe, Cesare.

Ezio takes to completing numerous tasks in order to cripple the Borgias over the next 4 years. Not only hurting them but also restoring Rome to its former glory. Assassinating key people who either work for or closely to the Borgias. Once he has the Assassins to their full strength and potential he’s given a new rank. The rank of II Mentore meaning The Mentor. He was also made the de facto leader of the Assassins in Italy. While all of this is happening his sister Claudia is also made an Assassin.

Spooked at what Ezio is doing, Cesare asks his father for more money and the Apple. This makes Rodrigo realize that his son is greedy for power. He won’t stop so Rodrigo tries to poison his son. However, Cesare turns the tables on his father and kills him instead. Don’t worry! Ezio witnessed everything go down. As well as learning the location of the Apple.

Retrieving the Apple from St Peter’s Basilica, Ezio uses it to his advantage. He overwhelms Cesare’s forces and with the backing of his supporter is victorious. Especially when Cesare is arrested by Pope Julius II’s Papal army. This is of course after Ezio and the other Assassins from the Brotherhood confront and kill his remaining followers.

Ezio ends up using the Apple later after finding out that Cesare has broken out of prison. With the help of John III Navarre, a new patron he gained the support of. They laid siege to the city of Viana, in Navarre. Cesare and Ezio cross paths on the battlements of the destroyed castle remains. They fight which leads to Ezio dropping him off the battlements because of what Cesare said. That no mortal man could kill him. Allowing the fate of the fall to kill him.

Once that is all over Ezio takes the Apple away to be hidden. Hiding it in a First Civilization Temple built underneath the Roman Colosseum. Which is exactly what Desmond and the crew needed and were searching for. Finally they had what they were after and could turn the tables.

Using the coordinates they found from Ezio’s memories they all traveled to the temple. Their intentions were to use the Apple to locate other pieces of eden. To keep them out of the hands of the Templars. Upon entering Desmons sees Juno. However the team doesn’t and are left waiting for context.

Juno informs Desmond that humanity is “innocent and ignorant.” Further stating that our 5 senses were not enough and that we missed knowledge as a sense. She then turned angry and screaming. Obviously without a care to anything else. Stating that “We should have left you as you were!”

Desmond continues forward touching the Apple. This freezes time all around him leaving him as the only one who can move and speak. Juno continues cryptically saying that Desmond is descended from their race. That he is their enemy. Furthermore, there is a woman who would accompany him through the gate. However must not be allowed to.

This is where things go crazy! Juno takes control over Desmond’s body. She forces him to stab Lucy in the abdomen. As they both fall to the ground Lucy is dead. Desmond is going into a coma. As the credits begin to roll signalling the end of the game… It’s not. You can hear two male voices discussing if they should put him back in the Animus or not.
