So, the Boston Celtics exciting playoff run between themselves and the Milwaukee Bucks is a series not to be missed. Though this team started off weak; they have since captured the attention of many people.

Boston Celtics Exciting Playoff Run – Brooklyn Nets

In the earlier part of the 2021 season; the team didn’t look like they would be in the playoffs., So, did you expect them to host the playoff series?

Of course, they have come a long way since the first half of the season.

In the first series, the Celtics faced the Brooklyn Nets. Since Kyrie Irving was with the Celtics and departed; there has been a lot of tension between him and the fans. To read more about the last series he played in with the team; check out my Boston Celtics Playoff Elimination post.

Though it has been several seasons since Irving signed with the Nets; the reason the fans don’t like him is that he told the crowd he was planning to re-sign with the team if they want him. And, that didn’t happen.

In the first game playoff game between the two teams, Irving was fined $50,000 by the NBA for giving a fan the finger. After the fine, things seemed to calm down,

At the end of their series; Irving spoke highly of his former teammates.

The Celtics advanced to the second round after sweeping the Nets.

Boston Celtics Exciting Playoff Run – Milwaukee Bucks

When this series started; I was excited to see how the team would play against last year’s champions ,the Milwaukee Bucks.

In Game 1, the Bucks handed the Celtics their first loss in the playoffs. The final score was 101 – 89. But in Game 2, the Celtics took control and the final score was 109 – 86.

The remainder of the schedule is as follows:

  • Saturday, May 7th – Celtics in Milwaukee – 3:30 p.m.
  • Monday, May 9th – Celtics in Milwaukee – 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, May 11th – Milwaukee in Boston – 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 13th – Celtics in Milwaukee – TBD
  • Sunday, May 15th – Milwaukee in Boston – TBD

So, many oddsmakers and writers have this series going either 6 or 7 games depending on what you read. In fact, the NBA.com have the Celtics to win in 7 games.

What is your prediction?

Marcus Smart

Due to Smart suffering a quad contusion; he sat out for Game 2.

Since he won Defensive player of the year in the NBA; he is known to play through pain. However, his injury kept him out of the game.

Now the question is will he be back for Game 3? Coach, Ime Udoka expects him to be back.

In the same way, Jaylen Brown said Smart is needed as he thinks the series will get dirty and nasty. Also, Jayson Tatum said Marcus Smart is the “Heart and the Soul” of the team.

With Smart out, everyone had to do much more.

And, all of the players rose to the occasion in Game 2 to hand the Bucks a loss.

How far do you think the Boston Celtics will go

Though it is early in the playoffs; there is still a lot of basketball left to play.

The NBA thinks many teams are playing really well.. However, if the Celtics continue to remain red hot; they have a chance to make it to the finals.

In addition, Robert Williams has provided a lot of minutes throughout the series.

With the teams stellar defense and the offense of Brown and Tatum; there appears to be a strong comfort level. and a lot of confidence.

After watching the way they easily eliminated the Nets and defending Durant and Irving; they seem to have the chemistry to make things happen.

Of course, anything is possible in the playoffs.

So, will the Celtics make it to Round 3?

In essence, can the Boston Celtics exciting playoff run lead them to the finals?

As always, I welcome your comments on the Boston Celtics exciting playoff run?
