August looks like a busy month for PS5 Games. Although there aren’t any major triple-A releases in August, the PS5 release calendar is packed. You still have access to all the games that are available on the platform. It seemed like a great idea to take a look at some of the amazing games coming to the PS5 this August, and to see which ones are the best (although you can't go wrong with any game). Here are the top PS5 games for August 2021.

The Falconeer - Warrior Edition August 5th

The Falconeer is a very curious experience. This narrative-led dogfighting game combines elements from Ace Combat, Panzer Dragoon and Avatar: The Last Airbender to create something truly unique. Sometimes the moment-to–moment gameplay can falter. There are long periods of tediousness that can be difficult to justify even for a solo effort such as this. The Falconeer is worth the purchase for its uniqueness, and the PS5 seems like the best platform to test it out.

Foreclosed - August 12th

Foreclosed's developers describe it as "a slick cyberpunk action-adventure", and that's certainly what it looks like. It's a third person shooter that features a comic-book aesthetic. The narrative also covers all the usual cyberpunk beats, including human augmentation, loss of soul in a world full of commodities, as well as rad weaponry. When it arrives in mid August, the DualSense's adaptive triggers will make this one more enjoyable.

Hades- August 13th

Supergiant Games' roguelike dungeon crawler is now available on the PlayStation 5 and the PS4 in August. This is the story of Zagreus, an impulsive, moody teenager who seeks to escape his father's clutches and enlists help from the Greek pantheon. This is not only a complex and intricate roguelike with many great systems to uncover, but it's also a heartfelt tribute to the whims and power of familial affection to transcend all.

Ghost of Tsushima - Director's Cut - August 20th

Ghost Of Tsushimahas already received a patch to improve the performance of its game on PS5, but you are getting a native version for Sony's next-gen console. You get the full adventure, but there's also a new area called Iki Island. This will be the next chapter of Jin Sakai’s story. Ghost Of Tsushima – Director's Cut will also include haptic feedback and Japanese lip sync to enhance the already excellent samurai adventure.

Kena - Bridge of Spirits August 24th

This beautifully animated adventure looks amazing and is definitely worth a watch. Moment-to-moment gameplay is Kena's forte. She blends the staff-twirling combat from Beyond Good and Evil with Pikmin's minion-directing strategy. It's all wrapped up in a gorgeous Pixar-come-Dreamworks animated aesthetic that looks like it'll be totally unmissable for anyone who's a fan of breathtaking visuals. This one is a must-have for all Pixar fans.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite August 24th

Rumours started to circulate after Aliens Fireteam Elite was first revealed. Could it be? A Alienscooperative shooter that is actually...good Cold Iron Studios looks like it's going to live up to its promise. The action-packed premise takes the fireteam into Xeno infested nests, and asks players to select from a variety of classes to get rid. Fireteam Elite looks more like it will deliver by focusing on a smaller and simpler premise.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 - August 24th

August 24th is looking great for gaming. This, Aliens Fireteam Elite, Kena Bridge of Spirits and this are just a few of the many highlights of this day. Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 expands the Hitman-style open-world sandboxes of its predecessor, tasking you with killing a target and choosing however you want to approach that mission. PS5 will include enhanced visuals and haptic feedback.

Hoa August 24th

It's another game competing for your attention on August 24, 2008. Hoa might have something else about it. Hoa is a 2D puzzle-platformer that's more contemplative than the rest. It has a beautiful aesthetic and a strong emphasis on exploration. Hoa is a great place to relax after you have beaten your targets in Sniper or taken down nests in Xenos in Aliens.

Recompile- August (TBD).

We don't know a release date for Recompile. This hacking Metroidvania looks like it could be a cyberpunk lover's dream. It will feature platforming, combat and hacking gameplay, all presented in an abstract and colourful visual style that will not leave your memories. Unfortunately, Recompile will likely be delayed, but we are keeping our fingers crossed that it launches this August.

These are the games that we look forward to most in August. You'll also be able enjoy the PS5-exclusive features of many of these games even if they arrive on a Sony last-gen console.
