Here is a list of the 7 best free VR games on Steam you should definitely play and support. I have created this list in a non-scientific way and not in any particular order, because each game is something very special in its own way. Each one has some incredible features as well as great reviews from other users who have tried them out for themselves! Additionally, the best thing is that all these VR games are completely free. So why not give them a try?

1. Earth Guard Egypt

Platri Gaming has released a new Egyptian mythology themed action-adventure game called Earth Guard Egypt. The colourful low poly art style looks really appealing to me and the gameplay is designed in an interesting way that makes it feel unique when compared with other games of this genre.

A horde of monsters are running towards your tower to break down the city walls and steal treasures. You are the hero, using your bow and arrow to stop Osiris' army from breaking down the wall's gates, taking the treasure for themselves. As you progress, the enemies get harder to beat and there are more challenges that arise from each level which makes it very rewarding when you finally defeat them! Your arsenal of weapons improves side by side. This means you can fend off attacks more effectively and get the highest score possible. What I found surprising is that protecting the tower was actually more challenging than thought. I definitely recommend it!

2. Aircar

You pilot a Bladerunner-like aircar above the breathtaking & futuristic cityscape and try to find landing pads to improve your turbo. Aircar seems more like an atmospheric VR simulator where you can explore futuristic cities, rather than being action packed. It serves as a peaceful break from everyday life that allows users to relax & fly around in first person view. If you love playing games like Cyberpunk 2077 this is definitely a good gem to start with. For a free game it is very impressive & immersive with really excellent visuals.

3. Propagation VR

WanadevStudio’s game Propagation VR game is not for the faint of heart. After a mysterious virus has infected all humans, you have to deal with your worst nightmares. You play a character who has to escape an abandoned subway station, where something terrifying lurks in every corner. The intensity and scary scenes will have you on edge throughout your adventure as there's no way to fight back; just keep running!

If you are looking for a game that provides an exhilarating horror experience, I highly recommend this one! Great graphics, great physics & absolutely worth the download.

4. The Red Stare

The nation depends on you: You get into the role of a detective in 1950's New York City, tasked with rooting out communists, as the Reds are infiltrating the city. The only problem is that you don't have any leads to go on - so it’s up to yourself to observe your neighbors and decide which one is the spy! You are based in an apartment and regularly receive information on your phone and by fax. If you enjoy shadowing, solving puzzles and thinking logically, The Red Stare is definitely for you. To quote a user: "How is this free?!".

5. Taphouse VR

You are the bartender! Welcome your guests to this medieval tavern and give the dwarves what they need: Great alcohol drinks. But don't be surprised, when the drunks start a fight, and you have to intervene. There's currently four levels in Taphouse VR game on Steam, and each level gets harder when it comes to having more space behind the bar counter for bartending; My conclusion: Taphouse is a fun game occasionally and truly one of the best free VR titles on Steam.

6. MSI Electric City: Core Assault

Embark on an action-packed adventure with the sequel to MSI Electric City with this game. Fight off a variety of enemies that come at you and use different ship types and arsenal. You are tasked with defending your city from various enemies. Your fighter spacecraft has different attacks and abilities that allow for a variety of battle tactics. With great graphics, high quality sound effects, along with addictive gameplay from HyperBot Studio makes it worth playing!

7. Trickster VR: Horde Attack!

Dive into an epic adventure with this Hack & Slash indie game. Battle over 16 different enemies and unique bosses as you fight for the life of your guardian, using over 30 weapons to take them down! The bow and shooting mechanics are quite good, making it a fun wave attack experience. Whether you play casually or as a VR pro, if you love these kinds of gems like Trickster VR, this game is definitely for you!

Conclusion

Whether you’re looking for some free, new VR games or are experienced in the world of virtual reality gaming and want to find something that will really blow your mind, this list should provide plenty of options. I hope it helps!
