There have been many mysterious disappearances throughout history, but some of the more recent ones still remain unsolved. Perhaps the most famous is the disappearance of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370, which vanished in 2014 with 239 people on board. That’s still a mystery. But here are a few other disappearances that remain unexplained: The two-year-old boy who was lost in New York’s Central Park in 1981. Just a few hours after the boy was reported missing, his mother was found near the park—she had no idea what had happened to her son. On a riverboat in the early 20th century, a woman vanished from her cabin and her husband never reported her missing. A woman and a child simply disappeared from a cruise ship, and no one ever found out where they went. People have reported seeing a young boy on an island in Maine, but when they go to find him, they discover no one is there. Who Or What Is The Churu-Churu? There’s a strange death that occurred in the 1800s in the town of San Luis, Argentina. A police officer was found dead, and there were no signs of struggle or injury on his body. The most bizarre part of the investigation was the fact that his death was written on his body beforehand. At first, authorities thought that the officer had committed suicide, but the man’s death was written on his body in strange symbols called “Churu-Churu.” A woman named Victoria Donda, who is an Argentinian politician, claimed to be the reincarnation of the police officer who died in 1897. She claimed that the symbols written on his body were a language that she herself created. However, no one has ever been able to decipher the symbols. The Strange Case of Taos Hummingbird Artifacts: If you ever visit New Mexico, there’s one strange place you may want to avoid: a small town called Taos. There are a lot of strange things that happen in this town, but one of the weirdest is related to a hummingbird. Locals in Taos have reported seeing a tiny hummingbird in the middle of the town and being able to hear it. Some of the people who reported seeing the hummingbird claim they were able to hear its wings making noise, which shouldn’t be possible. Others who have heard the strange hummingbird have reported feeling sick, while others have reported hearing an unearthly sound. The Demonic Dog of Adelaide: In 2012, a horrifying dog attack took place in Adelaide, Australia. A woman was walking her dog when a larger dog appeared out of nowhere and attacked her pet. When the woman tried to intervene, the giant dog turned on her and bit her arms, legs, and face, causing her to bleed profusely. When the paramedics arrived, they tried to sedate the dog, but it wouldn’t calm down. The dog eventually calmed down, but when people in the ambulance tried to move it to a different vehicle, the dog turned on them again and tried to bite them. After the incident, people reported hearing strange noises and seeing a black shape outside at night. The dog was eventually put down because it was too dangerous to keep around. Who Murdered Billy Shouse? In 1987, an 18-year-old boy named Billy Shouse was found dead in his apartment in Texas. He had multiple stab wounds on his body, and the police eventually discovered that someone had broken into his apartment. Because Billy was a computer programmer, some people believe that he might have been killed by a computer virus. The police found a strange code written in the margins of one of Billy’s books. The code was a series of letters, numbers, and symbols that didn’t seem to make any sense. Billy was also a noted puzzle solver, so he might have been working on a puzzle when he was interrupted by his killer. More Bizarre Disappearances: There have been many bizarre disappearances over the years, and these are just a few of them. This lonely shack is located somewhere in the Highlands of Scotland, on a small hill called the Black Mountain. It is located in a dense forest and is surrounded by the eerie sound of howling wolves. This abandoned structure is dilapidated, abandoned, and to say it’s in bad shape would be an understatement—it’s almost falling apart. The only reason people have even made it inside is because the door was left open. There is a bit of confusion as to where exactly this shack can be found, with some people saying it is in Wales, and others saying it’s in Scotland. The building was once a water tower, but was abandoned after the water that was being taken from the area turned green and people became sick. The building has been left to decay and remains abandoned to this day. It is said that disembodied voices can be heard when visiting this mysterious place. What’s even more eerie is that there is no explanation as to why the voices are being heard. It’s said that the voices sound like they are discussing the end of the world. It’s advised that you visit this place with a group of people, as it’s not advised to visit this creepy location alone. The Ryukan Inn at Yamada: If you love exploring creepy abandoned buildings, then the Ryukan Inn at Yamada is sure to satisfy your needs. This abandoned hotel is located in Japan and has been left to rot after being abandoned for more than three decades. This hotel was originally built in 1963, but was shut down in 1973 after the owner discovered that one of the employees was a member of a yakuza gang. The Ryukan Inn has been left to decay ever since. Although you can’t stay at the Ryukan Inn, you can explore its eerie halls and discover what life was like there. There are various items scattered throughout the hotel, including old towels and pieces of broken furniture. Aokigahara Forest: Aokigahara Forest is located in Japan and is one of the most haunted places in the world. It’s said that over 500 people have committed suicide in this forest. Locals have nicknamed this forest the “suicide forest” due to this disturbing fact. When visiting this forest, you may come across some creepy items left behind by those who have attempted suicide there. These items include things like bags, clothing, and even bones. If you are brave enough to visit this eerily beautiful forest, it is advised that you do so with a group. This forest is so large that it’s easy to get lost in it and have no idea how to get out. Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery: Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery is the name of a cemetery located in Illinois that is said to be haunted. This cemetery has a dark history, and many wouldn’t dare step foot in it for fear of being haunted. It is said that the spirits of those who were murdered are buried in this cemetery, which is what makes it so spooky. Bachelor’s Grove Cemetery is said to be one of the most haunted places in America, and is most known for being the place where Exorcist author, William Blatty, was inspired to write his famous book. If you’re brave enough to enter this cemetery, you may just come across some paranormal activity. Samduong Temple: Samduong Temple is a temple that is located in Thailand.
