Find the Best Battery for Your Car

Many cars will have multiple suitable batteries that show once you have used the car battery by reg finder.

If your vehicle does have start/stop functionality it is recommended to use an AGM or an EFB battery. Typical standard batteries allow for between 20,000 and 30,000 starts whereas EFB and AGM batteries can last up to 300,000 engine starts. If your car has already has an EFB or AGM battery, a like for like replacement is the minimum necessity.

It is possible to upgrade your EFB battery to an AGM battery if you require more performance from your battery. Delivery vehicles or vehicles with a large number of electrical consumers causing an increased power demand on the battery would benefit significantly from upgrading to an AGM battery. This type of battery will help to reduce the risk of the battery over discharging as AGM batteries have a significantly longer service life.

You'll also want to check the cold cranking amps (CCA) and ampere/hours (AH) each battery can provide. A car battery with a high CCA rating will perform much better at starting your car when temperatures are low. If you live in a cold climate or have a car with a larger engine, this is an essential thing to consider.

Batteries with higher AH ratings will also be able to run your heated seats, car radio and any other electronics for longer without affecting performance. If you are replacing the battery in your car, make sure you at least choose one with the same AH number as your current battery to keep things running smoothly.

The last thing to check are the dimensions and the terminal layout of your existing battery against the recommended batteries. If you vehicle doesn't have a current battery, or the battery is smaller than the battery tray in your vehicle, you can measure the battery tray. This is the space that has been allocated for your battery, as is usually positioned inside your engine bay.
