An area where ships passing through, be it sea ships or airplanes, mysteriously disappear. There is a debate among scientists regarding the Bermuda Triangle. All the scientists have different views regarding this field.

The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil's Triangle, is an area in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean that extends over 5 lakh square kilometers. It was named Bermuda Triangle because it is near Bermuda (an overseas territory of Britain) and its shape is like a triangle. Many studies and researches were done on the reasons for the disappearance of ships in this area, but nothing came out clearly. Discussions about this area started in the middle of the 20th century and it started being called a mysterious place, but most of the reputable sources reject this place as being mysterious.

History of the Bermuda Triangle

The earliest unusual disappearance associated with the Bermuda Triangle was mentioned in an article published in The Miami Herald on September 17, 1950, by Edward Van Winkle Jones. Two years later, an article called "Sea Mystery Our Back Door" was published in Fate magazine, which was a short article written by George Sand. In this article, Sand mentioned the disappearance of several airplanes and ships, including the Flight 19 group.

Flight 19 was the designation of a group of five General Motors TBM Avenger Torpedo bombers for the US Navy. After this incident, no clue could be found of the 14 airmen involved in the group. After this a Martin PBM Marnier flying boat with a team of 13 crew members set out to find them, but they also disappeared. This article written by Sand was the first such article in which the incidents of disappearance were described.

In April 1962, American Legion magazine once again detailed Flight 19 alone. Author Allan W.These things suggest that Eckert was claiming to have some supernatural powers in the mysterious area.

In February 1964, Vincent Gaddis, a writer for the pulp magazine Argosy, wrote in his article "The Deadly Bermuda Triangle" that Flight 19 and other missing planes were part of a pattern of strange occurrences in the area.

Other authors elaborated on Gaddis' idea, with Charles Berlitz, Richard Winer, and many others continuing to write articles based on the supernatural powers mentioned by Eckert.

In his article, Gaddis delineated the boundaries of the triangle, whose corners are formed on Miami, San Juan, Puerto Rico and Bermuda. Some authors used to write about different boundaries and corners. Some authors describe it as extending to Ireland.

What is the secret of Bermuda Triangle?

Different explanations were given by the people regarding the Bermuda Triangle. Some people believe that there are aliens present below this area who carry out these incidents. Some people talk about the presence of demonic powers here, while some consider it a place of ghosts and spirits. But there are some scientific explanations which can be believed.

First of all, there is a large number of ships coming and going in the Bermuda Triangle which can be the reason for the mysteries. Because if there is more traffic at a place then there are more chances of accidents than in the normal area. Second, hurricanes are very frequent in the Bermuda Triangle, so there are sometimes extremely powerful storms that can sink ships.

A common explanation that relates to magnetism is that the Earth's magnetic North Pole and Geographic North Pole are not in the same place, which means the compass does not point to the exact north pole. Usually sailors are familiar with this difference and they calculate and find out the right direction. But there comes a place in the sea where the compass shows the magnetic north pole and the geographic north pole in the same direction. The place where this happens is called the agonic line. An agonic line originates from the Bermuda Triangle near the Gulf of Mexico. That's why there may have been a mistake in navigation with the sailors and pilots at this place and they have gone astray.

Some scientists believe that methane gas accumulates under the sea at some places, from where bubbles of methane gas rise in large numbers at times. The sudden release of gas from the ocean floor creates foam in the sea, which can easily swallow the ship. A similar process probably created huge depressions on the Norwegian sea floor. But there was no evidence of this happening anywhere.

There is also an opinion that the water present in the area of bermuda triangle is much less deep than the rest of the ocean. It is said that many times in the olden times sea ships used to get stuck in the mud dunes hidden below in this area. So it may be because of this that untoward incidents have happened with the ships here.

Some scientists say that strange clouds are formed on the Bermuda Triangle, due to which airplanes and sea ships crash. These clouds are in hexagonal shape, hence they are named as Hexagonal Clouds. These clouds create a huge blast of air which causes strong winds of up to 170 miles/hour. Both these clouds and winds collide with the airplane and the sea ship due to which the ship loses its balance and it crashes.
