So, are you ready for some tips on dashing through the snow? With the festive season here; I wanted to share some ideas for you to enjoy the season that is filled with meaning and magic.

Dashing through the Snow

In the first place, start the season off by either making your own holiday cards, mailing cards, or create an ecard.

Woodland Animal Holiday Card Pack

With special sentiments and cute animals; this is the perfect card to send to everyone. Though they arrive flat, they come with a pre-crease; so they are easy to fold and put in the envelope and mail.

Meanwhile, if you haven’t decorated yet; now is the time to begin sprucing up your home both inside and outside. For some ideas; be sure to check out my Home Decor Holiday Inspiration post.

In my opinion, one of the most important things you can do during the holiday season is to give back. If you want to spread goodwill and magic; there is nothing more special than volunteering your time at a soup kitchen, hospital, or senior center.

Dashing Through the Snow – Holiday Traditions

Indeed, there are different traditions around the world about Santa Claus and ways to celebrate the holidays in different parts of the country. For example, Christmas in China is celebrated by giving green apples to each other wrapped in colored paper. In parts of Germany, many kids write to Christkind to ask for presents.

At the same time, no matter where you live; you should learn the traditions as it fosters an inclusive environment where families and individuals feel they are represented.

Hannukah

Hanukkah is an 8-day celebration that begins on the 25th day of Kislev on the Hebrew calendar and falls somewhere from late November to December. And this year, Hannukah started on Sunday, November 28th.

Hence, each night, one candle is lit on the menorah by the middle candle which is known as the Shamash candle.

In addition to lighting the menorah; many families give a gift each night as well as sing Hanukkah songs, and tell the story of how the holiday originated.

Holiday and Winter Safety

Moreover, if you live in an area that has a lot of snow and icy conditions; be sure to visit my Bombshell Whims Wishes you a Happy and Safe Holiday Season post for tips on staying safe.

When it is snowing outside, plan to go outside and go for a walk, shovel snow, have a snowball fight, or build a snow fort.

Finally, it is important to be safe whenever you are outside to avoid any unnecessary accidents.

And, for a special Christmas Eve dinner; be sure to check out my Seven Fishes Holiday Celebration post for ways to create a feast for this Italian American tradition.

In my opinion, one of my favorite things to do on a cold night is to curl up on my sofa or bed and get transported to a different place with a good book. For some of my personal favorite books; be sure to visit my Winter Reading Book Recommendations post.

Another way to celebrate the holidays is to host a movie night. Gather your friends and family to watch your holiday favorite movies.

After the Thanksgiving holiday; my husband and I headed up North to Jackson New Hampshire. Though we were planning on staying overnight; the resort we had booked quite some time ago screwed up our reservation for a Carriage House Suite; so we decided to stay only for the day.

Based on my experience with this resort; this is not a place I would ever consider booking in the future. If you want to know more about my experience; don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Since we had tickets for a Jingle Bell Chocolate Tour and other plans already in the works; we decided to make it a day trip. During our tour, we met many great people and enjoyed some “Yummy chocolate treats” at each stop.
