An Amazing Discovery By CalTech Researchers
What they found could change how we view our solar system.

It was reported, and this harkens back to a fringe scientific theory from the deepest parts of our imaginations, old writings, and legends. Caltech researchers discovered evidence of a giant planet on a bizarre, unusually elongated orbit in our solar system. And it’s not just a huge possibility; it would be mammoth.
It would be mammoth for two reasons. One is the planet's size, with a mass nearly ten times Earth's. The other is the orbital path, which takes between 10,000 and 20,000 years to complete one orbit around the Sun. Further than 2.8 billion miles away, there’s an area of extreme interest to scientists. And now, they may have found what so many have theorized about.
While this planet hasn’t been confirmed yet, the belief is that they can find it through calculations and observations. What that would mean is that the often-mentioned in Babylonian texts, but is it Nibiru, or is it Planet 9 (formerly Planet X)?
History
Nibiru is believed, according to records going back thousands of years, to orbit the Sun like a comet. The Sumerians wrote that the mysterious celestial body orbited the Sun once every 3600 years. What becomes apparent from knowing the Sumerians described Nibiru is this isn’t a 20th- or even 21st-century phenomenon.
Then, the author of “The 12th Planet,” Zecharia Sitchin, who had studied the ancient texts mentioning Nibiru, put this text at around 1433 B.C.
“The great planet,
of dark red appearance.
The sky divides in half
And it presents itself as
Nibiru.”
During the two Voyager missions and Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11, there was data collected that indicated a celestial body at least twice Earth’s size, in an area 2.4 billion kilometers beyond Pluto. That led researchers to the belief that it would be on an orbit around the Sun, taking at least 1,000 years.
Interesting Facts About Nibiru
Origins in Babylonian
The word appears in ancient Mesopotamian astronomical and mythological texts.
Even in ancient beliefs, it was associated with a celestial body or place in the stars.
2. Modern Story
Until Zecharia Sitchin's writings became popular in the 70s, Nibiru wasn’t thought of as a threat to Earth.
It was Sitchin who popularly proposed the Anunnaki came from Nibiru.
3. Is Nibiru “Planet 9”
While scientists have hunted for Nibiru and the mythical Planet 9, or what was once called Planet X, they are not necessarily the same.
Real science
While Planet 9 isn’t Nibiru, both concepts are remarkably similar.
Planet 9 is based on observations of patterns among bodies and objects beyond Neptune.
Astronomers believe these patterns are because of the gravitational influence of a large, undiscovered planet.
5. 2012 Made Nibiru Famous
Nibiru would become connected with the 2012 apocalyptic theories.
The theories were that an apocalypse would occur with the end of the Mayan calendar cycle.
Science never supported the apocalyptic theories on Nibiru.
Since both the histories behind the two giant planets are so similar, only once they are found and their existence is proven can science be sure. But, with the discovery of something, based on gravitational patterns on bodies at the outer edge of our solar system, past data, and historical mention, it would seem Nibiru might be the great white shark of our solar system. (The one everybody knows is there, but nobody can prove it)
Have they alerted to the actual physical Planet 9? Not yet. In the expanse of space, even a body five times that of Earth is going to take a stroke of luck to definitively locate. So, it’ll take as much effort to locate Planet 9 as it will Nibiru.
