Fact 1. Humans Can Only Use 0.5 Percent of Water on Earth

We all know that Earth consists of about 71% water. But did you know 97% of that water is too salty and can’t be drunk? Only 3% of the water on our Earth is fresh. Out of that 2.5% of fresh water is unavailable and locked up in glaciers, ice caps, and deep under the soil.

Only 0.5% fresh water is available to drink.

Fact 2. Sudan Has More Pyramids than Egypt

Egypt is famous for its pyramids but did you know Sudan has more pyramids than Egypt? And the difference is huge. Egypt has around 118 pyramids whereas Sudan has around 255 pyramids.

Fact 3. Our Circulatory System is Longer than 60,000 Miles

If our circulatory system is laid down flat, it will be more than 60,000 miles. It includes veins, arteries, and capillaries. It’s twice the circumference of the Earth.

Fact 4. Japan Has the Most Vending Machines in the World

Japan has the highest number of vending machines per capita in the world. There is one vending machine for every 23 people. That’s a large number of vending machines.

Fact 5. No Number before Thousand Contains the Letter “A”

“A” is a letter that does not appear in any number before 1000. If you spell out numbers from 1–999, you will not find a single number that contains the letter “A”.

Fact 6. Eiffel Tower Can Grow More Than 6 Inches in Summer

Did you know that the Eiffel tower can expand up to 6 inches in summer? This happens due to thermal expansion in summer.

Fact 7. Bees Can Fly Higher than Everest

Bumblebees can fly higher than 29,500 feet. That’s higher than the height of Mount Everest.

Fact 8. First Espresso Maker was Sent to Space in 2015

Now a fun fact for coffee lovers. The first espresso maker ever sent to space was ISSpresso in 2015. It was designed to use in space. The first espresso in space was drunk by Samantha Cristoforetti.

Fact 9. The First Commercial Passenger Flight Lasted for Only 23 Minutes

The first commercial flight took off on January 1, 1914, and lasted for 23 minutes in the air. The passenger with a pilot in that flight was Abram C. Pheil, former mayor of St. Petersburg.

Fact 10. You Lose Your Taste Buds on an Airplane

Do you know why airplane food tastes different? We lose around 30% sensitivity of our taste buds at high altitudes. This is because of the dryness and low pressure which reduces the sensitivity of our taste buds to sweet and salty foods.

Fact 11. Cats can’t Taste Sweetness

Did you know that Cats are sweet blind? Which means they can’t taste sweetness. It is because they lack receptors for sweetness.

Fact 12. Australia is around 526 KM wider than the Moon

Did you know that Australia is around 526 km wider than the moon? The diameter of the moon is 3474.8 km, while the width of Australia is around 4000 km.

Fact 13. California has More Population than Canada

Canada is around 24 times larger than California but you will be surprised to know that the population of Canada is less than California.

Fact 14. There are no Mosquitoes in Iceland

Nobody like mosquitoes even though they are an essential part of our ecosystem. Did you know Iceland is a mosquito-free country? There are two theories regarding that, number one is that the weather in Iceland is not favorable for them and number two is that the soil and water in Iceland contain some chemical composition that is not favorable for them.
