Will Cad Bane Get A Rematch With This Character From 'The Bad Batch'?

And Who Will Win?

The Book of Boba Fett “Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger” brings back one of Star Wars’ most fascinating characters: Cad Bane. This is the first time that Star Wars fans see Cad Bane in live-action, having previously just seen him in The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch animated series. In The Book of Boba Fett, Cad Bane is voiced by Corey Burton, the original voice actor, but portrayed by a stuntman. Cad Bane’s appearance in The Book of Boba Fett raises some questions about what his relationship with Boba Fett and Fennec Shand is going to be and answers some questions about his character still being alive after the Empire has fallen. It also raises some questions about what else may be in store for this character either live-action or animated.

So far, we know that Cad Bane is working with the Pyke Syndicate and their spice trade through Tatooine so he is definitely set up to be his usual villain bounty hunter role. This also sets up a potential rematch and reunion with Fennec Shand and Boba Fett. Fennec Shand has, of course, fought Cad Bane in the past, most recently in The Bad Batch, so it will be interesting to see where their characters lie in the spectrum of liking each other or wanting to fight each other. Either way, with Cad Bane on the scene, Fennec Shand may be the only one who understands who and what they are dealing with, which could lead to some interesting confrontation.

Cad Bane’s character has been around for nearly twenty years after first appearing in the Star Wars universe in Star Wars: The Clone Wars where his exploits as a bounty hunter always made for an interesting storyline. Fans both love and hate him. He is recently brought back to screen in The Bad Batch and his story remains unfinished in the pre-Return of the Jedi era. Now, we know he has survived the war and is working with the Pykes, but there is still a gap there. With The Bad Batch not complete, it could be that we will see Cad Bane in future seasons of that show.

Fennec Shand’s battle with Cad Bane in The Bad Batch over the bounty on Omega is one of the most exciting fight scenes in the series. Fennec goes toe-to-toe with Bane and almost manages to kill him although their fight does end in a draw since both of them fail to keep Omega for the bounty. Will we see another fight between the two? And if so, will it overpower the long-awaited fight between Boba Fett and Cad Bane? Only time will tell.

If Fennec Shand and Boba Fett were to fight Cad Bane, how will the fighting styles differ? Will it make for one more exciting fight over the other? Boba Fett tends to not have as dynamic of fight scenes due to his straightforward fighting style and armor. Fennec Shand and Cad Bane both move differently. Boba Fett also has the majority of his fights end with the quick draw of blasters or using the rocket launcher on his back to end the fight. If Cad Bane and Boba Fett fight, it most likely will not be hand-to-hand like the Cad Bane/Fennec Shand fight. But, that does not mean that a showdown between Cad Bane and Boba Fett won’t be interesting as well. After all, Cad Bane also likes to draw his blaster. Fennec Shand uses a creative approach to hand-to-hand combat and gadgets. She strategizes, which also makes her opponent strategizes. This is part of the reason why she almost bested Bane in The Bad Batch. Bane can’t use the same fighting style he is familiar with to defeat her. Will Bane be able to get creative enough to win against her? We shall see.

When Cad Bane and Boba Fett and Fennec Shand finally meet up, it will definitely be one of the most exciting and highlighted parts of The Book of Boba Fett. It will most likely give the show a very interesting action-filled fight sequence, which is something we have not seen much of so far with Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. The big question remains though: will the creators of the show make the match end in a draw again? Or will they finally finish it in the favor of the best person?
