Why Can Science Not Prove Yet The Afterlife, Even Do With Quantum Physics?

Do You Believe In The Spiritual World Or Reincarnation?

The Bible and holy books from different religions talk about spirits, reincarnation and, beings from outside of Earth. You can ask friends and strangers if they believe in all those things, and you'll get a bunch of yes. Going deeper into this conversation, some of those people will become not so sure. So, do they believe it or not? It's like a story I heard in Brazil that helps us understand it.

A priest from the hinterland of Northeast Brazil, the driest region in the country, called the faithful to the church for everyone to pray together, asking God or anyone who would take care of it in heaven to send rain because of the situation in the community was critical. The plantations were dry, animals and people were dying of thirst.

Before beginning the prayer, the church was packed, and the priest asked who believed that the prayer would bring rain. Everyone raised their hands to signal that they did; they believed in the power of prayer. Then the priest asked, who of you got an umbrella? In the crowd of almost a hundred, less than five people were holding umbrellas. It's the same with those people that believe we're spirits, but not so much.

Spiritism Theory

Spiritism says the material world, where we are now, can be compared to a school, where we, spirits, come to learn and become a better individual. There are similar ideas in Buddhism, in other religions. More recently, people believe quantum physics has a scientific explanation for the different dimensions, like the spiritual word. I'm a believer in these possibilities, but everything associating religious beliefs with physics is the only speculation.

The Physics Professor and Ph.D. Ricardo Mastroleo explains in an article on the subject written in Portuguese that Spiritism is not the responsibility of Science. Mastroleo concludes the article by saying that the "world physics community remains focused on solving many unresolved problems and unanswered questions in the field of matter. However, there is no doubt that Science, materialistic nos, will also spiritualize in the future. The moral and ethical transformation of humanity and its spiritual maturity will replace extreme skepticism so Science can incorporate the phenomenology of the spirit into its research programs." It doesn't mean there aren't spirits.

Near-Death Experience

Aristotle believed that the Earth was the center of the Universe and that the Sun, Moon, and other planets revolved around our globe. Some people still believed in it, but the advance of technology made it possible to Nicolas Copernico, say it wasn't true.

There is enough evidence of a spiritual world from many sources, with no scientific explanation yet, like the NDE - Near Death Experience, reported by patients to doctors worldwide. Some studies were made with patients in the US, Europe, and Asia. Pim Van Lommel, a cardiologist from the Netherlands, conducted 2001 a study with 344 cardiac arrest patients from 10 Dutch hospitals successfully resuscitated. He concluded that

"This did not appear consistent with hallucinatory or illusory experiences, as the recollections were compatible with real and verifiable rather than imagined events."

At the same time, these studies still can't explain where the patient's consciousness goes in these NDE episodes if it's not hallucinatory or illusory experiences. NDE is an example that we don't know everything, and more time will need to have scientific proof. But the evidence is too strong to say there is nothing beyond the world we can see a touch. As the genius, Albert Einstein said once, "There is more to heaven and earth than our vain philosophy can explain."
