Which ‘Star Wars’ Disney+ Show Are Fans Looking Forward To The Most In 2022?

Which Show Are 'You' Looking Forward To?

That is the question. 2022 is looking to be an amazing year for Star Wars with such shows like Andor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and of course The Mandalorian Season 3. Kicking it all off will be The Book of Boba Fett, which will debut on Disney+ later this month on December 29th with the remaining six episodes coming out beginning of next year. There will also be two animated shows coming out in 2022 as well, namely The Bad Batch Season 2 along with another LEGO Star Wars Special, some of which is becoming a yearly tradition now. That is six Star Wars shows that we know for next year. There is always that chance that there might be additional announcements in the near future. We'll just have to wait and see. We may find out more during Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim in May 2022.

Currently we fans only know of these six shows for next year. As the title suggests, which show are fans looking forward to the most? Well, I asked that question over on The Star Wars Hub, then shared that question across several dozen Star Wars/Geek related groups to get the widest reach for votes.

Now Facebook (yes, I'm going to go on this little rant again) used to have Polling Options where you could set up multiple question on Pages. Then they scaled them back to only two options, and then removed them completely. Now you can only do polls in Facebook groups. So I created what is essentially a React Poll by using the emojis to vote. Rather simple.

  • Wow - The Book of Boba Fett
  • Love - Andor
  • Laugh - The Mandalorian Season 3
  • Like - The 2022 LEGO Star Wars Special
  • Cry - Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Angry - The Bad Batch Season 2

Over 3,000 users took part in the poll. The results? Well, was there any doubt?

Obi-Wan Kenobi was the clear winner with 59% of the votes. Who wouldn't be excited for the return of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader along with a promise of a rematch. I am a little bit worried that too much hype and excitement may cause some disappointment. This is not going to be the Obi-Wan Kenobi we knew from the prequel trilogy. This will be a damaged man. Personally I am going with the mindset of Logan: The Unforgiven meet Star Wars. Anyhoo.....

Following Obi-Wan Kenobi's massive lead we have:

  • The Mandalorian Season 3 with 14%
  • The Book of Boba Fett with 13%
  • The 2022 LEGO Star Wars Special with 7%
  • Andor with 4%
  • And last but not least The Bad Batch Season 2 with 3%

It won't be long folks. While this year has been lacking in Star Wars shows, we have been good in terms of books and comics. However, that is about to change on December 29, as we will be getting a good variety of content.

I expect season 3 of The Mandalorian to be good. If The Book of Boba Fett is anything like The Mandalorian “Chapter 14: The Tragedy,” it is going to be good and gritty. I am interested in what we will be seeing in Andor (got a feeling that will debut next), a spy/espionage thriller set within the Star Wars universe, revealing that the Rebels weren't so squeaky clean. I expect Bad Batch Season 2 to be similar to Clone Wars, improving with each season. The LEGO Star Wars Special is going to be a little bit of fun as usual.

But it's Obi-Wan Kenobi that has the most interest within the fandom. Will it deliver? I think so.
