A birth chart comprises of twelve houses, with each signifying different aspects of a native’s life. A specific planet or zodiac sign positioned in that house influences its factors and gives results accordingly.

How to Determine ArudhaLagna

1. Arudha Lagna - To find the Arudha Lagna, the position of the Lagna Lord in the birth chart must be identified. Then count that many Houses from the Lagna Lord to get Arudha Lagna. If the Lagna Lord is in the third house (zodiac sign), then count three houses from the third house. We arrive at the fifth house (zodiac sign) that becomes the Arudha Lagna.

There are two conditions.

- If the ArudhaLagna is in the Lagna itself, then the tenth house from that must be treated as the ArudhaLagna.

- If the ArudhaLagna is in the seventh house, then the fourth house (which is the tenth house to the seventh house) should be treated as Arudha Lagna.

Arudha Lagna in Kendra, Trine, or Upachayahouse ensures that the native will have an abundance of wealth. The eleventh house from ArudhaLagna becomes the house of significance in determining the wealth of a native.

Kendra Houses are the auspicious houses in a birth chart.

The first, fourth, seventh, and tenth houses of the natal chart are called Kendra houses. All planets placed in the Kendra make the native wealthy.

Trine is an aspect when the planets are 120 degrees (three signs) apart. Trines are areas of support and natural grace. In a birth chart, a Trine is a point of harmony and ease. Trine is considered positive as energy flows easily between the planets in Trine, bringing good luck and opportunities for a native in areas affected by the planets.

Upachaya houses are houses of growth. In Vedic Astrology, the third, sixth, tenth, and eleventh houses are referred to as the Upachayahouses. These houses allow for a native to grow and excel.

How to Determine Dhana Lagna

2. Dhana Lagna(InduLagna) It is one of the special ascendants and is known as the ascendant of wealth and prosperity. It is determined to analyze the financial situation of a native. For every planet, a root number is allotted to calculate Dhana Lagna. The units of brilliance for the seven planets are as follows -Sun(30), Moon(16), Mars (6), Mercury(8), Jupiter(10), Venus(12), and Saturn (1).

Take the ninth Lord from Lagna and the Moon. Get the root number of the ninth Lord and add it up. Divide the sum by12. Count the remainder from the Moon; it will ascertain the Dhana Lagna.

In case the Dhana Lagna is occupied or aspected by more benefics, then the native will have an abundance of wealth. The factors of Arudha Lagna and Dhana Lagna,however, should be applied along with the 2nd House and 11th House in the natal chart.
