How would you like to stay inside your very own Star Wars starcruiser? How would you like to immerse yourself so fully in a theme park attraction/hotel that you will actually think that you are in the galaxy on a starcruiser? Well look no further. Walt Disney World’s Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Hotel Rooms are going to be quite the excursion and adventure. You won’t believe you are still on Earth.

After opening Galaxy’s Edge in Walt Disney World in August of 2019, Disney has not stopped adding new concepts and experiences to the already amazing and exciting part of Disney World. The Galactic Starcruiser is not just a hotel, but also an attraction all to itself. Even with projects being slowed down due to COVID-19, the Galactic Starcruiser has been full power ahead. The Galactic Starcruiser is still under construction, but recent photos have been released that show a tiny peak into what the inside of this amazing attraction looks like.

On November 16, during the virtual IAAPA event, Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro showed physical mockups of what these starcruiser cabins in the new hotel in Galaxy’s Edge will look like. Previously, all that we had seen was concept art. The concept art gave us a hint of what we would see in the rooms and what the experience would be like. But these new pictures that Josh D’Amaro showed are real scale recreations of the real thing. And they look even more amazing than the concept art.

Here is the first one followed by the concept art originally released:

The room is simple with one large bed and a pair of bunkbeds in the wall (very similar to a lot of the rooms we see in the various starcruisers and spaceships throughout Star Wars). It’s not extravagant, but since you don’t normally stay too long in a hotel room at Disney anyway, it serves the purpose to immerse you in the experience and add to the overall excitement of being in a completely different kind of hotel.

The simplicity of the room fits the theme of Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser. Much like in a real cruise ship or any of the other ships like the Millennium Falcon, space is “limited” so the rooms are not huge. You see this in both the live-action and animated movies and shows. It’s all part of the theme and the story. Plus, the aesthetic and look of the room definitely makes you feel like you are on a starcruiser. You don’t want too much going on, and it’s just the right jaw dropping awe-inspiring look. It’s made to make you think you are actually aboard a starcruiser, which, if the room itself won’t do it, then the “window” will. This next photo shows a shot from the bunkbed position of the rest of the room. This is what you will be able to look out and see from your stateroom. Complete with a “window” that doesn’t show the outside sky like we know it. Rather, it will make you think you are really in space. And every window in the ship has views that are similar!

The adventure begins when you arrive at the Galactic Starcruiser Terminal and check in for your experience. Once checked in, you will board a launch pod where you will “blast off” into space and rendezvous with the Halcyon, the ship you will spend the next three nights aboard. Through the windows of this experience, it will seem like you are actually jumping off into space and drawing close to the ship. When the Launch Pod docks, you will step off into the Atrium and begin your experience immediately immersed into a real life Star Wars story.

You will get to visit the starcruiser’s bridge to learn about the ship systems and how to operate them. You can visit the Engineering Room where you can sneak into the crew-only part of the ship and discover the inner workings.

One of the best things, though, is the lightsaber training. You will get to wield a lightsaber while facing off against a training remote, and perhaps pretend you are Luke Skywalker.

The Silver C Lounge will be a place to come and hang out.

The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser was set to have reservations go live this year, but it is unlikely that that will happen. It’s more likely that reservations will begin in 2021, and shortly thereafter, the hotel experience itself will open. While the reservations to stay at this amazing experience won’t be cheap, the point is for it to be its own kind of park and work more like a Disney Cruise than a theme park. It is an entire two-day, three-night experience designed for guests to stay almost entirely inside the hotel while having one “shore excursion” to the planet Batuu, another area in Galaxy’s Edge. It’s designed to feel like you are actually flying on a starcruiser, exploring the galaxy, and having the adventure of a lifetime. It looks to be an amazing experience that when it opens to the public, will be a must-have vacation for diehard Star Wars fans wishing to live their dreams.
