UFOs: Greer's disclosure crusade

Debunking perception of an Unidentified threat

With so many distractions in the modern world to occupy our time it’s easy for events to pass us by, but when pubs are shut, offices closed and there’s no football on the box it presents an opportunity to catch up with all the things we’ve been meaning to do but never found the time for.

A fan of documentaries, more than three months of lockdown in 2020 has given me the chance to catch up with many of the series that are the staple of channels such as Yesterday, Sky History, Blaze and Netflix. But having exhausted the catalogues of Abandoned Engineering, Forbidden History, Ancient Egypt, World War Weird, Secret Nazi Bases and Impossible Engineering, I’ve found myself in the realms of Ancient Aliens.

The possibility of life beyond our planet is something I think is of universal interest to mankind and many of the archaeological sites unveiled in this series are remarkable feats of engineering that quite simply boggle the mind… enough to make even the most ardent sceptic wonder about our past.

The melodramatic presentation also works well in inducing naps on the sofa, although it hasn’t prevented me from making a hefty dent into the series and resulted in an interest in programmes I’d otherwise have avoided like the plague… things like The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch and The Curse of Oak Island.

On Netflix I’ve looked Inside Bill’s Brain, followed Pandemic and The Family but recently stumbled upon a 2017 documentary called Unacknowledged, which caught my eye probably as a result of my Ancient Aliens binge.

Unacknowledged: An Expose of the World's Greatest Secret focuses on The Disclosure Project and how and why UFO secrecy has been ruthlessly enforced over the past 70 years.

Dr Steven Greer is a well-known American “ufologist” and founder of The Disclosure Project, but until this week his work was a complete mystery to me. Just shows how much, even in this world of instant information, we still depend on our mainstream media for the majority of our knowledge about the planet.

Greer has been at the helm of The Disclosure Project for nearly two decades and has done Congressional presentations, briefings for presidents and CIA directors, and had private discussions with powerful figures throughout the world.

He’s a devout advocate for government openness about UFOs and The Disclosure Project has become an influential movement in the United States largely as a result of his leadership.

According to Greer, open contact with extraterrestrial entities has been forestalled by the hostile nature of our society and he suggests our technology has outstripped our social development. He claims extraterrestrial visitors are concerned about this… exemplified by UFO sightings over nuclear missile silos and atomic test sites since the 1940s.

Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1955, Greer claims to have witnessed a UFO sighting at close range when he was about eight years old, inspiring his interest in ufology.

Following a “near-death” experience as a 17-year-old, he trained in transcendental meditation before acquiring a degree in biology from Appalachian State University in 1982.

He qualified as a doctor from East Tennessee State University in 1987 and attended MAHEC University of North Carolina, where he completed his internship in 1988 and received his Virginia medical licence in 1989.

Now a retired traumatologist, Greer founded the Centre for the Study of Extraterrestrial Intelligence (CSETI) in 1990 to foster a research-based initiative to bring about contact with extraterrestrial civilizations. The organisation claims to have more than 3,000 “confirmed” reports of UFO sightings by pilots and evidence of over 4,000 “landing traces” of UFOs. It has also defined a protocol for human-initiated contact with UFOs… called CE5.

Greer founded The Disclosure Project in 1993 to inform the public about government’s alleged knowledge of UFOs, extraterrestrial intelligence, advanced energy and propulsion systems.

A physician at the Department of Emergency Medicine at Caldwell Memorial Hospital, Greer gave up his medical career in 1998 to focus his attentions on The Disclosure Project and in May 2001 organised a CSETI press conference at the National Press Club in Washington that featured 20 retired Air Force, Federal Aviation Administration and intelligence officers who spoke openly about the US “industrial-military complex” UFO cover-up.

Greer firmly believes this “complex” keeps secret advanced propulsion systems acquired from alien vehicles either via hostile operations (shooting down and retrieving crashed discs) or negotiations (where the US Government has made contact with aliens and benefits from their technology).

He further asserts that many reported sightings are not of extraterrestrial craft but so-called Alien Reproduction Vehicles (ARVs) developed by the military by means of reverse-engineering projects at top-secret installations such as Area 51.

Greer is also the founder of the Orion Project, an organisation dedicated to developing long-term energy alternatives to fossil fuels, with zero-point energy the optimal solution for energy independence.

He claims super-advanced quantum-vacuum technology, a free form of energy that fills space in infinite amounts, is being kept secret by the industrial-military complex because it would rid the world of energy dependence, allowing everyone to tap into an unlimited energy source and put an end to conflicts over fossil fuels.

Greer suggests this free energy would topple the current economic order and reshape the geopolitics of the world, which is why the industrial-military complex has gone to such lengths to keep the subject a secret, with Greer asserting that for the past 70 years they have been planning a “false-flag” alien invasion to perpetuate their grip on power.

He says these organisations have been “beta testing” the deception with man-made UFOs and staging fake “alien” abductions to lay the groundwork for the plot. He goes on to explain how these unacknowledged agencies operate beyond official government oversight and have developed flying craft that look almost identical to actual extraterrestrial ones, making it virtually impossible to tell them apart.

Greer believes they’ve purposefully flown these man-made UFOs in places where they would be seen to gauge public reaction to them, while underground organisations have also reportedly used drugs and electromagnetic weapons to alter the consciousness of unwitting subjects to simulate alien abductions in an effort to increase the notion of an extraterrestrial threat.

This notion is perpetuated by close involvement with mainstream media sources and, from Project Blue Book to the Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program (AATIP), Greer argues the defence community has done everything in its power to debunk UFOs for the past 70 years.

AATIP was a secret “investigatory” effort funded by the US Government that was set up in 2007 to study UFO phenomena. It was made public in December 2017, five years after the US Defence Department claimed it had ceased operations because its appropriations ran out.

The group was believed to have been headed by Luis Elizondo, who claimed he continued to work with officials from the Navy and the CIA on the programme until he resigned from office in October 2017, at which point he was taken on by the To The Stars Academy of Arts & Science co-founded by Blink-182 guitarist Tom DeLonge, Jim Semivan and Harold Puthoff.

Greer suggests these steps are all part of a move by the industrial-military complex towards disclosure of “credible evidence” which alludes to a “threat” presented by alien craft operating with impunity in protected airspace. This perceived menace then offers up the opportunity to unite the world behind the fear of alien invasion, allowing the industrial-military complex to proceed with its plan.

Interestingly, all this week on Blaze a series of documentaries called Unidentified has been running as part of the channel’s “UFO week”.

This series, originally made for the History channel, was the first major project undertaken by the “entertainment” arm of To The Stars and features both Elizondo and DeLonge investigating many of the UFO phenomena revealed by the Defence Department.

While Unacknowledged emphasises the benign nature of alien visitation for the past 70 years, it’s noticeable how Unidentified continually raises the spectre of a threat.

Could To The Stars be the latest incarnation of the industrial-military complex’s efforts to further their agenda? Former Nazi scientist and NASA rocket guru Wernher von Braun went to his death-bed in 1977 warning close associates of the impending threat to mankind posed by this group… culminating in a “false-flag” alien invasion.

As Greer clearly points out, if extraterrestrials have been visiting our planet for the past 70 years or longer, with technology vastly superior to even the quantum-vacuum technology we may now have got our hands on, do they really pose a threat? Or does the threat come from those in command of the industrial-military complex desperate to maintain dominion over the planet?

Greer points out several false-flag events he claims have already taken place… and in each one the loss of human life was of little consequence to those in command. Three months ago I’d have scoffed at such a prophecy, but having seen how the dark lords have created a bogus pandemic to manipulate us during that time I really wouldn’t be surprised if it came to pass!
