Two Truths And A Lie

When you get into the world of astrology, it’s truly a whole new world—or rather universe. Like a club, astrology comes complete with its own lingo and abbreviations. For example, Sagittarius becomes “Sag”. Or people might start asking you where is your Moon? And what is your Venus? Some people sound like they are ordering something fancy from Starbucks. Others sound like they are describing their sexual preferences and lifestyle.

While there are 13 aspects that makes up one’s natal chart (the position of the planets and other celestial bodies when you were born), three are most common. They are your Sun sign, Venus (how you love sign) and True Node, which is also known as your Ascendant. Your ascendant is the sign that was on the horizon when you were born. If your birthday falls at the very beginning or end of your Sun sign, reading the horoscope for your ascendant can be very helpful.

Here’s my basic breakdown from my natal chart:

Sun: Gemini

Moon: Capricorn

Mercury: Gemini

Venus: Taurus

True Node: Cancer

I often surprise people when they learn I’m a Gemini. The response from most is that I’m the most “balanced” Gemini they’ve ever come across. And there’s a reason. Among all my aspects is a good combination of Earth (Capricorn, Taurus) signs to keep my Air sign in check.

So how does being a Gemini with my ascendant in Cancer live up to social media memes? The best way for me to sum it up is there are two truths and a lie.

How Gemini and Cancer Handle Stress

Under stress a Gemini tends to hesitate to take a route that must be quickly determined. Gemini absolutely hate violence, and extreme form of stress, finding it perplexing. Gemini would much rather focus on intellectual activities. So it’s true that Gemini are described as “Master Your Mind”. This is because Gemini like to use their intellect rather than emotion to solve problems.

This is quite the contrast to Cancer who are really moody and emotional, ebbing and flowing through life’s ups and downs. So it makes sense that Cancer seek out a life of stability. So I would say “Build Safety” is true for Cancer. Traits that fit this description are kindness, emotional intelligence and being most comfortable at home surrounded by loved ones.

True or False: Shifty Gemini and Super Sensitive Cancer

Nobody likes to readily admit their weaknesses or accept anything that seems like criticism. But for all the sparkly positives we find about our signs, there are going to be some drawbacks. People are quick to rattle off the “negative” traits for Gemini. But dig a little deeper and you will find that nearly everybody exhibits these “negative” traits. For some reason they all seem to get dumped on poor Gemini.

Is Gemini shifty? I would say yes and no. The fact is, Gemini like variety and abhor being bored. Therefore, it can seem like Gemini are always on the move, whether it’s from one idea to the next or one activity to the next. This can make Gemini seem unpredictable, ever-changing and indecisive. But Gemini are really just fascinated for a little while with just about everything. But if something shiny catches their attention they can be quick to become bored of something previous or current and move on.

Is Cancer sensitive? This is a clear yes. Cancer is a very sensitive person who is easily offended. They are also extremely perceptive of subtle nuances and psychic vibrations. This often makes Cancer come across as being crabby or moody a lot of the time.

How Do Gemini and Cancer Cast A Spell

I bet it never crossed your mind to determine how good you would be at casting a spell, let alone the role you would play. Now that it’s on your mind, check out how you stack up.

Gemini being described as “spills salt everywhere” is just downright offensive. This totally misses the mark. Who has ever heard of a clumsy Gemini? No one! Usually you notice how multitalented Gemini are. Gemini can be tender, delicate, and super attuned to the world around them. And Gemini also are keen at being poetic, looking at things with a detached curiosity and observing and dissecting everything outside of themselves. Some say this makes Gemini good for writing. This meme should have cast (get it?) Gemini in the role of spell writing or riveting recitation.

I’m not even sure how to unravel Cancer as “Is having all kinds of feels”. I think it’s safe to assume the meme is not implying that Cancer is freaky and sees spell casting as a free for all. So, that leaves Cancer’s emotional and psychic vibration nature or connection to the moon. In that instance, I would say this can ring true for Cancer. But who wouldn’t have “all kinds of feels” in the middle of casting a spell?
