The Unmasking of Gemini

What the twins will reveal

Gemini Mased

The Dawning of Aquarius has been heralded over time, including a song dedicated to its particular nature. But it is the unmasking of Gemini that matters in this moment. For over a year we have lived with dual faces, the masked for the public; the unmasked in our pods. Gemini—they know all too well the meaning of two faces. For over a year all signs around the Zodiac have been required, taunted, urged, and cajoled to live a duality.

Now the masks are coming off, slowly for some; for others, ripped away like a Band-Aid, revealing pain and pleasure, a smile or a frown, a dichotomy of feeling after a season of lock down.

Now is the time for Gemini, expressive and quick-witted, curious and self-reflective, a social introvert ready to hover or fly off, come close, yet remain distant without the slightest sense of irony in their response.

This time, this moment is the rising and setting of Gemini in a world of dualism. This is your horoscope for the coming days my Gemini friend: The depression of your masked days will be lifted and the pessimism under a year of pandemic will be replaced by optimism and wonder. Disheveled hair, coiffed and colored. Pale cheeks, pink with sun kisses, the time is now, sweet Gemini, to experience brilliant moments. The fate cycle is doing somersaults. You might be the center of attention as others of fire, water, and air look to you for guidance. Your air sign is meant to lead the way by encouraging us fly our kites of possibilities high above our heads—faces turned to the sun, absorbing healing rays of light.

Once neglected, the universe is now conspiring in your favor, unlocking your chains, urging you to be free, looking back for wisdom and forward for hope. If you can balance between the earth and air, stay astride of fire and water, use your two selves for a singular good, then my Gemini friend, there is help for us all, ram and lion, crab and scorpion and fish.

Oh you chameleon of the universe, able to know and honor what others want to hear—need to hear, not to deceive but by using your gifts to turn daydreams into reality. Both a source of energy and of calm, intelligent and curious, your sense of purpose is a gateway past the doubts planted by a pandemic that took our loved ones, took our livelihoods, took our self-confidence, took our levity. Fear could have snatched all our confidence away, but your yin and yang, you and your twin, know how to stare down trepidation, and replace trepidation with courage.

The hippies of Hair and the soulful sounds of the Fifth Dimension sang of Jupiter and the moon. But in the here and now Mercury is in Gemini, telling us the two sides of the story we have all lived, but leaving the interpretation of what is truth and what is folly up to us. What cannot be denied is the energy, coursing from pre-retrograde, to retrograde, to post retrograde.

Mercury in retrograde is only one score and five, leap frogging over the summer solstice and in honor you, gifting us with two eclipses. Mercury arouses the twins, turns the old new, the drab colorful, the silent conversational. They absorb all the stimulation file it away and release it simultaneously, the unique check and balance that only twins share and the ability to compare, contrast, and connect two ideas. Here Mercury is enamored with all knowledge, down to the smallest notion. They're intellectual sifters and searchers, always looking for the gems that connect two ideas.

When the Mercury comes to you my Gemini friend, the cosmic door will swing open, welcoming all who would enter, encouraging your duality and our singular selves to be more open, more objective, more tolerant and over-arching it all—kindness.
