         "You flew!?"

         "No he didn't he's lying."

"No I'm not!" Exclaimed Joseph, looking back and forth between his two friends, Jonah and Mavin. "I was on the Pier and I just closed my eyes and flew."

"Prove it then." Said Mavin, arms crossed. "If you did it once then you can do it again."

"That's the problem Mav! I don't know how I did it!"

"Okay okay quiet down." Said Jonah, looking around the alley to make sure they weren't being eavesdropped on. "It's not even sunrise yet and you're going to wake the whole kingdom up."

"Who gives a damn about the kingdom Jonah?" Said Mav. "Joseph claims that he flew last night and you're worried about waking up the kingdom?"

"Fair enough." Said Jonah, sighing in defeat. "But I'd rather not be arrested for disturbing the peace at this time in the morning."

"Oh what would midday work better for you?" Said Mav sarcastically. "We have bigger things to deal with, like say, how one flies without being an Angel spawn or having years of magical experience."

"Well it's entirely possible that he is part angel." Stated Jonah. "I mean, nobody but his mother knows who his father is. And Lord knows that's a touchy subject for her to discuss."

"I don't know!" Said Joseph, getting more and more frustrated by the second. "I just want to do it again!"

"Well then we need to find someone who knows magic." Said Jonah. "But where the hell do we find magic users in this kingdom?"

Just then, the sky above the mountains suddenly exploded with a bright purple light, as though the heavens had become a massive lavender Grove. The light stayed bright for a few seconds and then then faded back to star spangled black.

"Fuck was that?" Said Mav, trembling.

"That," said Joseph, looking wide eyed at his two best friends. "is how I learn magic."

Morganna grunted, hurling yet another massive ball of fire at her father, who effortlessly flicked it away with one finger. Sweat dripped down her face as she struggled to keep up with the demon.

"About done?" Said the Demon mockingly. He flicked his wrist and uttered the word "Causto", causing a ball of black fire to soar through the sky and hit Morganna in the shoulder, sending her flying backwards through the air. "I'm waiting for the fight to start."

"Shut up!" Said Morganna putting her palms together and aiming her arms at the Demon. A small orb appeared at the tips of her fingers, growing larger and larger by each passing second, until it reached the size of a large pot.

"I see you've been going through my books." said the Demon, sternly, starting to get serious. "It's seems that the battle has finally begun."

He flew higher into to the sky observing his daughter as she kept her aim towards him true and precise. He pointed one of his one of his bony fingers towards the witch that opposed him and a dark ball, similar to his daughters appeared and grew at the tip of his claw.

"Sphero Caustio" said the demon and the witch at the same time. The balls both began to shine brightly, one a purple light and the other a white. Then a beam came out of each ball and spiraled towards their targets, clashing in the air. The two magic users held strong, each of the beams battling to overcome the other.

"I'm growing tired of this. It ends now." said the Demon, holding out his other hand while still maintaining the beam of light. "Though I can't leave the fact that you've grown stronger unacknowledged."

The Demons hand started to glow from the wrists to the tips of his fingers. He stared gravely at his daughter, showing no emotion and leaving no hope of mercy.

"Demon Spiral!" Yelled the demon. Another beam sprang from his palm and spiraled around the two clashing beans towards Morganna, striking her in the chest and leaving a burning hole in her clothing.

The light and smoke disappeared from the air around the two, leaving only Morganna, who was falling towards the valley, and the Demon, who dove after his daughter at godspeed.

And deep in the Forrest, in a small clearing by the treeline, three young boys sat, amazed at what they had just witnessed.
