The Mandalorian Wields The Darksaber in Season 2 Of Mando!

Take A Look At These!

Have you ever wondered what it would look like if Din Djarin, The Mandalorian himself, wielded the Darksaber? This, of course, is the legendary weapon that has been tied to Mandalorian lore throughout its appearances in The Clone Wars and Rebels animated series. When the Darksaber made its live-action debut in the hands of Moff Gideon at the end of season 1, fans who were familiar with the weapon lost their minds (in a good way).

Naturally, people have been speculating what that ending means for Gideon's past, his future, and the direction of season 2. Some would even love to see Din Djarin use the Darksaber. Thankfully, a digital artist named Mizuri has provided a glimpse of what that could look like. Going by the username @mizuriau on Instagram, this 18-year-old artist from Melbourne, Australia made the art below, which looks like it could very well be from the show. The caption includes the following:

"Super excited for the next Season of @themandalorian, the first season was awesome! Hope to eventually see that Darksaber come out, the black and white effect looks amazinggg. Tried my best to recreate it in this little edit, hope you like it!"

The second of the Instagram images above depicts the Darksaber by itself on stone containing a symbol. This looks like it could be a screenshot out of a high fantasy film or TV series with a really good budget. Mizuri should be proud of these valuable pieces of fan art that can be appreciated by Star Wars fans all around. Just looking at these pieces may be enough to make one wish that Din Djarin does indeed get to use the Darksaber in The Mandalorian season 2.

Of course, it may not be easy for that to happen right away. As tough as Din Djarin is, Moff Gideon proved himself to be a formidable foe. Giancarlo Esposito himself has even alluded to the possibility that his villainous character could have some sort of connection to the Force. One cannot help but wonder to what extent that is, and just how proficient he may be with certain aspects of the Force. It is within all living things, but some are able to tap into it more easily than others.

If Din Djarin does have to get into a fight with Gideon to acquire the Darksaber, it probably would not happen until the season 2 finale, at the earliest. This is speculation, of course, but speculation that makes some reasonable sense. There have to be challenges in the sophomore season, and it would make sense for the Darksaber to be a prize at the end of a season filled with trials and tribulations. Then again, we might have to wait until season 3 or even 4 for Din Djarin to get the Darksaber. If Gideon is around for that long, then having it take a while for this weapon to be taken from him would cement him as one of the toughest Star Wars villains that we have seen in the live-action format.

The Mandalorian season 2 premieres on Disney+ October 30. It will not be long before we see what happens next with the Darksaber.
