Veronica and Rafael met each other when he shifted next door as her neighbour. But their true friendship was officially declared in the annual friendship day in college. Seven years later both of them worked as investigative journalists till the unpredicted mishap tore apart their lives. It happened when Veronica and Rafael was sent on a live telecast in the Amazon forest where they mysteriously disappeared. Both were taken as captives by the Wu Wei clan came from an unknown planet, where only time could decide their fate. Greenish liquids were injected in to their veins until they became Pegasus and Phoenix, their new identities.

In 1917, the two enemies, Pegasus and Phoenix met with a battalion of Redcap for a prolonged vendetta over the iceberg territory. But little did they know that it was the mistake of none but of Leprechaun, Phoenix’s best friend, adviser and the mastermind behind their clash. The commanders faced each other with ice-cold and fiery looks, remembering about their childhood.

The arctic and blustery winter had begun, indicating the opening of the annual friendship fair. ‘Wow, whispered Pegasus with cracked lips.’ ‘Awesome, this glacial mansion is going to be mine and I will fight Yeti,’ amusedly said Phoenix. She became tensed for her friend as he would commit the last of sin on the planet.

A couple of months later, old Yeti was murdered in his inherited mansion, turning her doubt into the unthinkable. An investigation was immediately started by the galaxy world. Even after ten years, it still remained a mystery. The trumpet was blown and ice shuddered, exploding layers of flakes on the defiant troops. Pegasus and Phoenix broke from their reminiscences. The oldest and bravest member marched forward and officially raised the colourful feathers, declaring the battle after three days.

Tents mushroomed on the northern and southern directions with full swing of preparation. Although, Pegasus gave her consent for this fight, she was reluctant for it. ‘Good, three additional days to conclude this enigmatic death and won over my friend’s trust again. And yes, the real culprit would be exposed.’

She realized the gravity of her mistake by citing Phoenix’s name on the suspect list. Mustering her courage in both hands, she stood with her head above her shoulders to find the treacherous. By the time all the tents were erected, butter cream cloud surfaced and Pegasus activated her action plan. A luminous seed on her right wing and an illuminating serpentine rod clenched between her teeth, she flew discretely from tent to tent to eavesdrop on the enemies.

Beads of perspiration rolled down her cheeks and forehead but her determination kept her steadfast. Two days had passed but to no avail. On the beginning of the third day, she discovered the darkest of the secrets. She suddenly stopped at a distance of twenty meters from the ailing Leprechaun’s tent. Startled and alert, Pegasus sneaked and glued her ears to get a grasp over his groans and murmurs. ‘Please, please, spare me for this horrendous act and forgive me YETI.’‘I will atone for my sin in your icy mountain and in front of Phoenix.’

She was about to enter the murderer’s den when she heard an approaching presence. She hurriedly retraced back her path in ambush. Restless, anger, and victory made her endless night turned into dawn. Pegasus immediately gathered her armies and walked towards Phoenix to proclaim the truth. But Phoenix announced that Leprechaun died in his sleep. ‘Oh, noooooooo,’ yelped Pegasus. In homage of his dearest friend, Phoenix postponed the battle after two days to mourn the latter’s quick disappearance.

An enraging Redcap armies from Phoenix’s side menacingly and mercilessly attacked Pegasus’ baffled troops. ‘So, this was that treacherous Leprechaun’s strategy.’ ‘I must stop this bloodshed or I would repent throughout my life.’ Green liquids painted the ground as thousands of brave soldiers lost their fights. Out of the blue, yesterday’s incident flickered in her mind. ‘Yes, I have lost my dragon balls near Leprechaun’s vicinity.’ She scurried and examined the surrounding areas with sharp eyes.

In a blink of an eye, she saw two shining objects near the heap of metals and she triumphantly said ‘here they are and here I come’. She went through all the recordings and finally she came across Leprechaun’s true identity. Without losing any time, Pegasus hurried to the trumpeter and the oldest individual to cease this enmity. The outrageous crime was stopped by the blowing of the trumpet and light was shed on Leprechaun’s devilish character. ‘All’s well that ends well’ gladly and apologetically said Phoenix.

Pegasus put down her invisible pen and inserted her signature; one of her fallen feather and closed her book. Heaving a sigh of relief, she stated ‘indeed, this is completed now, I can rest in peace.’
