The Best Cameos From Star Wars The Bad Batch

Who Was The Most Surprising?

This May the fourth was such an important day to us fans. Not only we celebrated Star Wars as a whole, but we also got a 75 minute premier episode for Star Wars: The Bad Batch. This new Star Wars animated series, follows Clone force 99, as they try escaping the hands of the empire, right after Order 66. The premiering episode not only showed us the transition from the Republic to the Empire, it also showed us a very important fact from Star Wars history.

The opening scene of the first episode of The Bad Batch, shows us a young Caleb Dume (Kanan Jarrus) and the moment he lost his master during Order 66. Caleb of course, will be seen years later in the animated series Star Wars Rebels. He would change his name to Kanan Jarrus, in order to escape from the hands of the Empire, and the inquisitors. This scene was very powerful, as we saw a character we all loved, being tormented and left forgotten on an unknown planet.

After the transition from the Republic to the Empire, the clones are being evaluated to prove their loyalty, this is where we get the second cameo of the episode, and that is of none other than Admiral Tarkin himself. Tarkin arrives to Kamino and begins to evaluate the Republic army, and test the clone’s loyalty. Clone force 99 is tested by Tarkin and are sent to a mysterious planet in order to deal with several Insurgents to the Empire.

Clone force 99 is then completely in shock as Tarkin sent them to eliminate a group of children, and several survivors. The group of survivors was being lead by Rebel extremist, Saw Gerrera. Saw speaks to the clones and gives them a choice to join the fight, and to join the rising rebellion.

These three cameos were huge as they are all extremely important characters in Star Wars history. The Bad Batch did not disappoint us, it gave us a really dark period of the galaxy, that we had not seen before. As a fan, I am extremely excited to see what else the series will show us, what other characters we will see, what cameos we will see, and what other dark event we will get to witness.

This first episode also shows us the past of Kanan which was such a terrible experience to the young padawan, and shows us more on why, he didn’t trust clone troopers in Star Wars Rebels. We also got to see an early plan from the Empire, to get rid of Clone Troopers, and replace them with recruits, and that Tarkin was ruthless from the very beginning.

One of the things that was very surprising to see in this first episode, was Saw Gerrera’s humanitarian side. In previous appearance of the character, we’ve seen him being extreme, and very violent when fighting for the cause, yet in this first episode, we saw a more human side to Saw as he wanted Clone force 99 to see what they were sent to do, to make them see the actual good side of the fight.

The first episode of the Bad Batch also showed us that Clone Force 99, was unable to be affected by the inhibitor chip, as they were all genetically augmented, and that could have prevented the chip from affecting their programing, with the exception of Crosshair, who ended up betraying his brothers, and joining the Empire.

Fans are super excited to see what else this wonderful animated series has to bring to the table, and to see what other amazing character cameos are yet to come.
