As You Know Bob - The Body Is an Internal Organ
As you know Bob, it seems strange to us today, even somewhat disgusting, that we would wear dead, inert material. At least if we were to cover ourselves with mud, we would know that we were likely applying a rich, healing bacterial and mineral culture to our skins, but dead matter? Is that not disgusting? Thankfully we are so much more civilized now.

When it comes to futurism, 2016 was no slouch. Lots of technology first-evers were introduced in 2016, including reusable rocket ships that pinpoint landed on barges floating in the middle of the ocean, the possible detection of gravity waves, autonomous cars reaching new thresholds in acceptance, and major steps in quantum computing.

My own concept of ambient music has always been a broad one. It touches nearly every genre, yet makes its home in none of them. It revels in ideas and mystery. It's often been the product of cutting-edge technology, yet many of its best moments are deeply human ones. The parallels with science fiction are not hard to find.
Invasive
The Martian invaders charged from the spaceship. They kept coming as Sam Scott sprayed their green brains over the city streets. They ran towards him, shooting ray guns in his general direction. He killed them by the dozen. Sam swapped out a plasma rifle for the rocket launcher. Another battleship landed, spewing out more creatures. He fired, sending the dirty bug creatures through the air. He laughed hard as they exploded. One missile after another he launched until there was nothing but a burnt-out wasteland.
Inexpensive Gift Ideas for Science Loving Loved Ones
Most science lovers have an affinity for trivia and cheesy gifts. There is also a very special place inside the heart of every budding scientist for wordplay and double entendre...anything that requires a little usage of that big brain of theirs. And if you didn't already know, they're generally avid tinkerers...

One of the hurdles to longevity is that bodies seemed designed to break down. It's a part of aging. It might be a part of evolution. Transplants and implants aren’t painless and can be risky. Now, researchers are saying that you won’t have to worry about bodies breaking down when you can just print a new part.
Matt SwaynePublished 7 years ago in FuturismQuantum Computing is Huge
Most people think that a quantum computer is either a plot device in a science fiction plot, or, at the very least, a relic of mankind's 100-year fascination with adding the adjective "quantum" to nouns to make things appear mysterious or powerful.

Solar power is one of the most efficient and clean sources of energy humanity possesses. There are no increased fuel costs or dependencies, no ties to pollutants, and it is both reliable and affordable. In order to harness solar power you need access to specific technology. The tech relies on either small-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, large-scale solar photovoltaic systems, or concentrating solar power (CSP) systems to capture solar energy.

You've seen the view from high above a football stadium before. But have you ever flown through the goalposts like a football? With SkyCam, a computerized camera originated in the 1980s, that soars through the air on steel cables. Its applications went far beyond sporting arenas, including skiing and other non arena based sports as well as the making of movies, television commercials, and even music videos.

On Saturday July 8th 1688, an Irish landowner sat down and composed a letter to an English doctor. The landowner’s name was William Molyneux. Ten years earlier he had married a woman named Lucy. After bearing him three children, she had become ill and was struck blind. But Molyneux’s letter to the doctor wasn't about his wife. The doctor’s name was John Locke and the letter was the first statement of a very profound neurological question. The letter asked the following:

"Money," whispers Data Raider, "was information." He and De Crypt are hiding in the second story of a small abandoned concrete tower on San Jose’s outskirts, waiting until the cannibals get tired of looking for them. They’ve been lying underneath a window and shivering, hardly daring to move, all night; the cannibals outside are hungry. But by this time, De Crypt and Data Raider are pretty sure they’ll be safe. All they have to do is wait long enough. As information technologists, the inhabitants of Silicon Valley had ranked as the best in the world, but as cannibals, they’re no better than amateur.
