The Devil and 20 Gs
“20 Grand would solve a fuckton of problems, right?” Tommy Rodriguez thought about that often. Pay off student loans on an unfinished degree or buy a new car. Go back and finish that unfinished degree. Maybe start a business. Something. Start over. But it’s never really that simple, is it?

Genie Book
Everleigh was a 20 something, who had no clue what she was doing with her life. Three and half years later, she still hadn’t decided on a major. Between the constant working to pay her way through school, from survival to studying for a degree out of debt, she had no life. This repetitious, monotonous, rhythm was stealing her life away. She needed an escape from this. From the bags underneath her eyes to the eye twitches that occurred throughout the week, she needed a break restoration. So on this lovely warm spring day, iced strawberry frappuccino in hand, dressed in blue overalls with a black midi shirt on, she found herself inside a bookstore, ready to spend her last twenty dollars on something she loved.

Desperation
Falstad knew he could do more. He always did. But he knew about the price that would be paid. So he helped in different ways. When Wren, the east’s greatest burglar, couldn’t find the trap, he set it off, tumbling before it hurt him. When Draga, the southern amazon princess, couldn’t handle the stress of leadership, he would tell her a joke, and help her relax. Whenever Krizto the Magnificent’s arcane knowledge came short, he would tell a story that hid the clues. After all, he had the appearance of a ridiculous old man, with a bad limp and the faded motley of a jester. He knew that they would be able to save the world, and he would help where he could, in penance.

The Enigma of Higham Hill
The snow fell relentlessly - winds were blowing at fierce speeds. Drifts piled high above my head and the biting cold stung my eyes. It was a wondrous thing to behold! Finally, silence. All was still. I felt completely peaceful. The noise of modern life had come to a halt - but only for a short while. I breathed deeply, and relaxed into that stillness. The only sound was the faint thump of my beating heart, the breath that escaped from my lungs and the crunch of snow beneath my feet. I walked in a bubble of down. The cold didn't touch me. Time evaporated and all thought quieted down to barely a whisper.

Inheritance
~Kaiźer~ ~ A young Prince is Born from past Ashes of Orphanage ~ Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves, Kaiźer followed behind his escort. The man was dressed in the servants livery to the royal house but that meant nothing to Kaiźer for he had no idea as to why he was being summoned to the throne room. He’d been woken when the night sky still simmered with stars by his mother to be told he had to dress in his best attire.

Untold Story
The sun rose, dragging with it another uneventful morning as Cassius walked their morning route, ensuring no one had tampered with any of the enclosures at the park. The unusual and magical creatures exhibit put on by Aelix every year was a huge hit and a target for the rebels to steal any new valuable splices that Aelix created that year. A soft crunching sound emanated from the smallest enclosure as a lemur-like creature chewed on a branch. Its large eyes tracked Cassius. Snap. The branch snapped and fell to the ground with a light thud. Cassius smiled and flowed around another corner. Only to see a man touching the barrier for one of the dragon enclosures.
