The Bookbinder's Bag
The legend never mentioned that the wizard would look like my father. Same boring head, bald and wrinkly. Same bulging brown eyes, hemmed in by unruly brows. Same substantial nose, squarely planted in other people's business. Same lumpy cheeks, scarlet apples high up on his face until the wars, after which those two sour patches fell darkly into the chaos of his smile, a smile that never knows what to do with its teeth.

Tebiah
"A noble song indeed, good Micas! Surely one that will be remembered for many years." The large bearded man near the back of the murky, smoke-filled tavern roared his boisterous praise of approval above the surrounding cheers as Micas Harstos, a mercenary belonging to the Bastone Guild, stepped smiling from the table that had served as a temporary stage. She scanned the landscape to see if anything stuck out. The rain had just begun to fall as she tilted her head to see the second floor of the ruins.

"The Empty Heirloom"
A man stands before a mountain of ash and burnt timber. His head bobs. “It’s a sad day for those who knew the Livingstone family. Recently, Gertrude Livingstone died, and now, behind me, is what’s left. The mansion went up in flames during the night, the cause? A misplaced cigarette. Numerous bodies have been found and identified. The investigation continues as the whereabouts of Natalia Livingstone remains a mystery.”
