Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Will Be Next Gen Console Exclusives Says New Rumor

Star Wars has always had a hand in video games dating back to the days of old with LucasArts. With games like Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, and The Force Unleashed games. Now under new management LucasFilm under the direction of Disney has big plans for the Star Wars gaming industry. With new games planned like Star Wars Eclipse, Star Wars: Hunters, and various untitled games waiting to be announced.

Respawn Entertainment's Jedi: Fallen Order broke the mold in 2019 with its single-player story mode-driven game that included a brand new story, characters, abilities, and planets developed by Respawn Entertainment. The tale of Jedi Cal Kestis was born, ushering in a new era of gaming, effectively leaving behind the previous two Star Wars Battlefront I and II in the 2010's.

Cal, played by actor Cameron Monaghan, was set on an adventure five years after the terrible events of Order 66. Players got to experience the early years of the Empire and relive brief tragic moments through Cal's Force echo ability. Jedi: Fallen Order essentially wooed so many fans into falling into the warm embrace of Respawn Entertainment. For almost three years, fans have been waiting for a well-deserved sequel. However, the news is shrouded in mystery and encased in rumors, the latest rumor is leaving fans very uncertain and frankly upset.

The rumor is that Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will not be released in previous-gen consoles such as Xbox One and PS4. Rather, the suspicions are that the new sequel will be exclusive on next-gen consoles like Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 only. There is a massive problem with that. even though the Series X and PS5 were released within two days from each other on November 10th and 12th in 2020, respectively, fans are still finding it very difficult to purchase a single console almost two years later.

Caught between scalpers (people who purchase items in bulk and resell for double or even triple the original price), expensive retail price tags, component shortages, and good old fashion over demand. The Series X and PS5 are nearly impossible to find. If restocked, shelves are left barren within the hour. This puts Star Wars fans in a really difficult position if this rumor is confirmed to be true when more news drops later this year.

However, it is not all bad! If the rumor is indeed true, then that means game companies are ready to make the conversion into a newer form of gaming, leaving behind dated resolutions and processing speeds. Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 are said to have the fastest processing speeds of any gen console to date, meaning smoother gameplay, fantastic resolutions, and new multitasking features exclusive to new-gen consoles. If you manage to get your hands on these consoles, buckle up because the gaming experience is entirely unique and just plain wicked awesome!

While we wait patiently for a Jedi: Fallen Order II release date to be announced, you can enjoy what is said to be the greatest LEGO video game ever. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is all that fans are raving about currently. Players are absorbed into the game's vast open-world features and a new remake of the original LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga. With epic graphics and new comical jokes, this game has utterly taken 2022 by storm. I have personally played it and completed the prequel levels. I can absolutely say I love it!

In case you may have forgotten, keep an eye out for news regarding Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake. The remake was originally announced back in September of 2021. There have been barely any hints or news since the original announcement, leaving new fans extremely excited and older fans slightly apprehensive. The reason being, well nostalgia. Fans are touchy when things they love are remade. The announcement gives little to no specific details about the changes being made to the story and character of the game. Just how many changes? We will just have to wait and see.
