How does a solar thermal system work?

Let's try to understand, once the sun's rays hit the thermal solar panels, how a solar thermal system comes into operation. The scheme is very simple.

We will have a boiler filled with domestic water, from which a coil comes out to which the boiler is connected In the lower part of the system there is a coil with pipes that connect to the solar panels All the elements of the system are enriched with an Solar Energy in Pakistan antifreeze liquid to avoid malfunctions and breakdowns, especially in the colder seasons

The cold water that comes from the aqueduct enters cold and comes out heated in the upper part finally, a mixer will allow the water not to reach too high degrees of temperature before being introduced to the users.

Photovoltaic panels: how are they made?

What are Solar Panels? What is the difference between thermal and photovoltaic? What price do they have? All about the devices on which the famous renewable energies are based

Solar panels are the starting point of that green revolution that has placed Italy among the top countries in the world in terms of sustainable energy development. Solar Panel in Pakistan Today we will discover the intrinsic nature of these panels which - despite their small size - are capable of generating electricity and heating for your home.

If today Italy is a country at the forefront in terms of renewable energy, the merit is certainly due to the work and action of the so-called solar panels. It is precisely from their operation that a new type of energy is born capable of completely disrupting domestic consumption. This is where the whole new philosophy underlying the movement called Green New Deal starts, which will lead to total decarburization by 2030. The now famous Smart Flowers or Enel X photovoltaic systems are born from solar panels, also supported by the work of Enel Green Power, eg. Let's find out the features, characteristics, prices and use of the now famous solar panels.

Solar panels: what are they?

The solar panels are devices that, by exploiting the radiation from the sun, are able to generate electrical and thermal energy. This process is totally green and has no polluting effects on the environment since it does not prepare the use of fossil fuels such as natural gas, coal, LPGor oil. Solar panels are made up of photovoltaic cells formed by a semiconductor material, for example silicon, which is positively charged on one side with boron and on the other negatively with aluminum. An "unbalanced" structure is created which will have a prevalence of electrons on one side and one with absence of them on the other side. In principle, therefore, the electrons, once hit by a strong energy such as the solar one, begin to move producing an electrical movement in the semiconductor body, which will produce the current.

There are 3 types of solar panels with different characteristics that adapt to different systems:

Thermal Solar Panels: also called Solar i Collectors, they produce domestic hot water for domestic use and for heating

Photovoltaic panels: create electricity without resorting to fossil fuels

Thermodynamic Solar Panels: they heat a refrigerant fluid by absorbing the heat from the outside and transforming it into steam

Let's analyze in detail these 3 categories of solar panels: uses, prices, etc.

Solar Thermal Panels: all the features

The thermal solar panels, also called solar collectors, are of particular devices that can convert the radiation of solar rays into thermal energy. The latter will then be transferred to an accumulator to produce domestic hot water, also used for heating or cooling homes. Solar thermal panels are generally installed on flat, slightly sloping and almost always south-facing surfaces. They are generally installed on roofs, on tarps and more rarely on the ground. The solar thermal panels, together with the boiler and the electrical and / or plumbing system constitute the so-called thermal solar systems.

Solar Thermal System and Heat Pump

A solar thermal system cannot be used as the only system for space heating. For this it must be combined with a heat pump or a gas boiler.

Solar Thermal System with Natural or Forced Circulation?

For domestic use, solar thermal systems can have natural or forced circulation. The former are typically cheaper and easier to install. When the fluid that circulates inside a panel heats up, it becomes lighter and tends to rise towards the tank. In the second case, the circulation takes place with an electric recirculation pump, so the installation is more expensive.

Types of Thermal Solar Panels

Solar collectors are divided into 3 macro categories based on their physical characteristics and their respective functionality. We'll have:

Vacuum tube collectors: a solar thermal panel must be able to retain heat as much as possible. These special collectors are able to considerably reduce the dispersion of heat generated by the sun's rays. They are able to supply hot water even up to 100 degrees and have a duration of over 20 years

Solar Concentration Collectors: they are structurally concave and have a "focus" or a focal point where solar energy is concentrated. These special panels are used above all in electro-solar power plants as they are able to reach very high gradations

Flat solar collectors: these are the most used for domestic purposes. They are divided into covered and uncovered. The former are enriched with a glass cover that protects them from atmospheric agents and is able to create a sort of greenhouse effect inside.
