The Serpent is the most subtle and clever of all the ancient signs, and those born beneath its stars are without a doubt the most difficult people in the world to get to know and understand, because their public appearance and inner feelings are so dissimilar.

When they meet, they are the epitome of charm and wit, and if they so desire, they can have anyone fascinated for hours on end. They are far too bright to be dull or heavy-handed, and they can confidently and easily address most problems. And, more than other Scorpios - because most Serpents are influenced by the Scorpion of the conventional zodiac - they have the Serpent's captivating and attractive gaze.

As a result, they never run out of admirers, but they prefer to keep their intimate ties with others hidden. In fact, they are deeply secretive about them because they are extremely cautious people who believe that the less they reveal about themselves, the stronger their position. Machiavellian intrigues and plans are their lifeblood, and without them, they would quickly become bored, which may be a significant issue for the Serpent.

They have a reputation for being manipulative and clever, which they may be, and cold-hearted, which they are not, due to their love of secrets and intrigue. They may appear deceptive or reptilian on the surface, but if you are among the fortunate few whom they eventually decide to trust and to whom they reveal their affections, you will find what devoted friends - and passionate lovers - they can be. And it is precisely because they are such passionate, emotional people that they feel the need to be so cautious in their interactions with the outside world.

As we have seen, the Serpent is a symbol of life's deeper mysteries. Its realm includes sex, death, transformation, healing, and rebirth, and the life goals of individuals born under it are experience and wisdom. They aren't interested in black-and-white moral judgments. Neither in conventional rules of behavior, which they will disregard if they perceive they serve no genuine use.

They may be cautious and keep a low profile, but the Serpent's life-force is extremely potent in them, and they are driven by a desire to discover what is under the surface of existence and to live life to the utmost. They do not spend their energy on things that boring them, and they are not aggressive, like snakes, who prefer to lounge in the sun unless disturbed. When cornered, their tongue's poison is legendary, yet they can also utilize it to expose hypocrisy and uncover the truth.

However, until they learn to use this power for good, it is often the venom rather than the healing that comes through - because the life-force is neither good nor evil in and of itself. Those born beneath the Serpent who disregard world wisdom and follow their own path can be rather amoral until they learn to make their own judgements about good and wrong.

The Serpent is arguably most known for its capacity to shed its skin and be'reborn,' but people born beneath it are also capable of doing so, and once they have created their own moral code, they frequently spend a great deal of their energy and time teaching others.

To some, the Serpent represents knowledge. Others hold it accountable for Man's fall. In any case, it is a sign of knowledge of both good and evil, which is more essential than anything else to people born beneath its stars, since they feel that only the truth can set man free.
