So Artistically Done

Princess Leia Organa has always been a huge part of why fans love Star Wars so much. Even before we knew she was Force-sensitive, Leia stole all our hearts, since she made her first appearance in 1977. We knew Leia was a leader and a warrior. When we found out that she was Force-sensitive, she became even more of a symbol of hope.

Although we never got to see Leia giving herself go into the ways of the Jedi in the original trilogy, fans all over the world lost their minds seeing Leia train alongside Luke in a flashback scene in The Rise of Skywalker.

It was such a wonderful feeling to see Leia training in the Jedi ways. Not only did we get to see Leia wielding a lightsaber, but we got to see how great at combat she is, as she defeats Luke in training. Jedi Leia inspired many fans around the world after that flashback scene in The Rise of Skywalker. Recently, StarWars.com released a new art piece by artist Christopher Vacher. The piece titled “Until Our Last Breath” showcases our beloved Princess in a long white cloak, as she proudly wields her blue-bladed lightsaber, standing all mighty in front of a Star Destroyer.

Vacher was inspired by the flashback scene from The Rise of Skywalker. In this piece, Vacher wanted to show Leia during the gap between Episode VI and Episode VII, where Leia trains alongside her twin brother Luke Skywalker.

The Rise of Skywalker might be the least remarkable film of the sequel trilogy, but it gave us a scene with Leia that we all wanted to see for many years. The amazing piece by Christopher Vacher is a dramatic interpretation of Leia in her prime. Many fans, including this humble writer, believe that if Leia didn’t abandoned her Jedi training, she could have surpassed her brother Luke, as her strong attitude and ability to support pain make her as strong as Master Yoda.

Even if Luke was meant to be one of the most powerful Jedi, and THE last of the Jedi order, Leia shows us the meaning of what a true Jedi is. The Jedi are selfless and they care more for the well being of others before themselves. This is Leia throughout pretty much her entire life.

Leia always puts the life of others before herself, from protecting the security of the Rebellion as she grieves the loss of her planet, to giving up her Jedi training to try and focus on her son Ben and later hoping to keep him from falling into the hands of Snoke. When the First Order rises to power, Leia leaves her position of power to join the fight against the First Order, and loses her son and her husband in the process. And if those aren’t enough examples to prove her selflessness, she gives her life to save her son, and to save Rey from the hands of Kylo Ren.

Our beloved Princess is the sole symbol of hope throughout the galaxy, and to Star Wars fans from all walks of life. Leia shows us that, no matter how dark our path is, there is always hope to see light at the end of the tunnel. She also shows us that anything can be forgiven, and that we must be strong even after losing everything.

When Carrie Fisher died, she took a piece of Star Wars with her. Nothing will ever change the fact that our Princess left us, and that even if there are many Star Wars stories to be told, none will ever have someone like our beloved Princess. There shall never be another character quite like our beloved Princess Leia Organa.
