According to Greek mythology, Orion (Poseidon’s son) was not only a giant but was considered the handsomest man alive. Apollo’s sister, Artemis (goddess of the hunt and moon) and Orion were avid hunting partners, which made Apollo extremely jealous. As a matter of fact, he was so jealous, he had Mother Earth sic a giant scorpion on Orio, which stung him to death. Scorpio is quite a large constellation and is found in the southern hemisphere. Antares, a bright reddish star, is the scorpion’s heart. Oddly enough, although scorpions don’t exist in the sea, it is a water sign.

Scorpios possess the best and worst qualities in human nature—you are a walking contradiction and difficult to get close to. While someone is trying to be your friend, you are picking them apart bit by bit until you know all the little secrets that make them tick. The power of awareness is important to you and because you delve deeply within the mind, you tend to be somewhat of a psychic. On the surface, you tend to be placid, but one should beware your turbulent undertow. You should never be underestimated or taken advantage of because you can be very dangerous and give a whole new meaning to the word vengeance. Holding a grudge for life is not uncommon.

Although Scorpios are often popular, you can feel quite lonely. Perhaps it’s because even though you are intensely loyal to your friends, you have a problem with them liking anyone else but you. Also, you can be very blunt, sometimes hurtful but not to the point of lying. You can be very evasive about the truth; it all depends how beneficial the situation can be for you. And you prefer to be the one asking questions because the more you separate fact from fiction, know about someone else, the more you can trust them. Clever and shrewd regarding other people’s emotions, should any of your friends have a problem, they will find you standing by their side to help out in any way possible.

A Scorpio is intensely passionate about everything, whether it be work, hobbies, relationships or worthy causes—halfway is not in your vocabulary—it’s all or nothing. Because it is in your inquisitive nature to know everything about any given subject, you have the capabilities of becoming wealthy—move over Bill Gates (Scorpio). But money doesn’t bring you happiness, being dominate and feeling powerful is more essential. Since your instincts are razor-sharp you might consider being a psychiatric counselor, psychologist or assassin. However, since you can be somewhat uptight, you might want to cut loose, kick up your heels and become a long-haired musician—a drummer to be precise. But for the ultimate position and power that goes with it, you could be like President Joe Biden (another Scorpio) and run in the next US presidential election.

Since Scorpios lean towards being very skeptical about almost everything, you tend to have a hard time giving your heart away. However, that said, once you do, it’s usually for a lifetime. Your wife or husband can expect your undying love and loyalty. Also, adventurous, exciting sex is not out of the question. Bondage is not your style but making out on the edge of a cliff high above a roaring river, on top of a desk in the office or the backseat of a car at noon that’s parked at a busy shopping mall could be a probability. For a lifelong meaningful relationship try to hold out for a Cancer, Capricorn or especially a Pisces—they’ll make your world rock. A Leo is out of the question and never but never hook up with another Scorpio. At first, the marriage will seem like it was made in heaven amidst the stars because of the thrilling sexual encounters but in the long run, you’ll most likely grow bored with one another and ultimately break up.

Being a Scorpio is complicated. A person would think because of their extra-sensory perception and telepathic possibilities, being cool and calm, honest and loyal they would have the world at their fingertips. However, since you are sometimes held back because of jealousy, deceitfulness and being paranoid, at times almost to the point of doing yourself in, it sometimes holds you back from being the best you can be. If you would take any advice, which isn’t too likely because you would analyze it to death, it would be, “Don’t sweat the small stuff”.
