Chapter One: The Curse of the Sea

A captain sails his ship into unknown charters past the red coats land. The night was stormy one the waves hitting the ship with enough force for even the bravest to be worried. But the ship sailed on with the crew and the captain and his wife aboard pregnant. The Captain was the one and only James Barnaby Hunter, the most feared man of the seas. His wife was the beauty of the seas her name was Ebba. Ebba has dressed the finest dew to her husband who dressed as he acted of course for him it worked.

As the ship sailed Captain James looked to his wife with love for her and his unborn child. He watched the wind blow his wife's curled blonde locks in front of her pale face, her lovely red and white dress flowing with the wind. She was absolutely gorgeous in his eyes and he wanted her with him every moment but knew with how the seas were there was no way a child could be raised on them from young anyways.

As they said towards his homeland a few more rough waves hit the sides of the boat causing his wife to fall into his arms unexpectedly. He smirks to her as he helps her catch her balance and walks her to the captain's quarters so she can lay.

After that, he comes out and looks to one of his men, “How far out?” He asks a small frail man who shakes in fear as the captain looks at him.

“Well sir we seem to almost be there but there be a lovely woman in the sea blocking our path.” The man answers getting a confused look from the captain.

“Have the seas drove you mad there is no woman blocking our path.” The captain growls as he snatches the telescope from the man. As he looks through it he is greeted by the sight of a woman standing on the water. “What the?” He asks before he quickly puts the telescope up and yells, “Drop the anchor, and whoever gets the woman may do as they please to her after I question her.”

“What if she's a witch?” One of the men asks another as the anchor is dropped and the men go after the poor woman.

The captain smirked as he watches his men drag the poor woman to the boat. “If she didn’t want to come aboard she should not have been out on the seas for the pirates to see.” He says to himself as his men get the woman to him. He looks her up and down realizing that she looked like the sea witch Undine. She had the pale blueish skin the sea-green hair and the gil markings to prove it.

“What be your business in these waters Undine?” James asked with a snarl.

“I was minding my own til your ship came to me.” She answered moving to where she was face to face with him.

“For a sea witch you sure are a beauty” James smirks as he puts a rough hand on her cheek. “But also for a witch you sure are dumb.” He says pulling her face closer to his as he whispers to her, “But I’m not in the mood to be nice to a witch.” He shoves her to his men and shouts, “This woman is a sea witch who is responsible for many men's curses and illnesses, she is the one who made the Kraken itself that sent many of our men to Davey jones.” He looks to the witch, “What do you say about that?”

She steps away from the crowd around her, “I say I had my right to do so! And I say if you kill me your first child will be punished to never speak your name!” She looks to him with a look of triumph as she adds in, “So if you rather that not happen I suggest you let me be.”

James growls not wanting this woman to boss him about as he draws his sword. “Listen here you witch you shall die for those words and then we shall dump your body into the sea to be eaten by the creatures you created.” After that, he brought his sword down upon the woman who let out a scream and a faint purple glow that went straight towards the captain's quarters where his wife lay asleep.

As the glow hit through the wife and to the child Ebba woke up in fright. “James?”

“Yes, my love?” James asks annoyingly as he cleans off his sword.

“Something happened to the baby,” Ebba says worriedly causing James to run to her.

“My love what do you mean?” He asks clenching his sword.

“Like a spell was cast onto it,” Ebba says holding her husband's hands.

James lets go of her hands and stand's up, “You’ll give birth and the child will be fine.” He says roughly as he walks out of the room.

The ship sailed closer Ebba started to worry about her child and if her husband was the man she thought he was.

Once the docked the ship Ebba was rushed to James’s brother’s house since they couldn’t go to a hospital since James was a pirate. Once in the house James’s brother Edward leads her to a bed and says, “The delivery should be easy since we have medicine that can help the process.” Ebba nods as they deliver the child.

Edward cleaned the child off to be shocked the child had purple eyes and a head of seafoam blue hair. He brought the child to her mother and asks, “You didn’t have an affair did you, Ebba?”

She shook her head no as he hands her the child, “Then explain this she has my brother’s medium white skin but purple eyes and seafoam blue hair.”

Ebba looks shocked before James comes in and says, “I want to see our baby, is it a boy or a girl?”

“A girl” His brother answered before looking to his brother and asking, “Did something odd happened on the seas?”

James looks to his brother confused before saying angrily, “That’s none of your business brother!”

“But it is to understand why your child looks like this!” Edward yelled back taking the child and holding her in front of his brother.

“I killed a sea witch,” James growls before he steps away.

“Where are you going?” Edward asks his brother who turns to him and says, “To leave my wife to raise our child since the seas are too dangerous!” Then James stormed out and was gone.

Chapter two: What’s my curse?

As time went on the child grew up she’s seventeen. Her mother named her Alexis but she rathered Alex. She grew her hair out and had it in a braid that reached the small of her back and she was learning from her uncle Edward how to lead a crew so she can one day sail the seas.

“Alexis come inside we have a guest for you,” Ebba called out to Alex.

Alex runs to the house from the shoreline to be greeted by a man with tattoos down his arms and legs that looked like tentacles, he had on a purple shirt with black pants and long black hair. Alex looks at the lady and asks, “Who’s this?”

Her mother and uncle look to her before taking a breath and Ebba starts to say, “Alexis, you’ve been cursed from birth and we never knew what it was but-” Ebba takes another breath as the man interrupts, “I am Merlin and I can help figure out who cursed you and what it is.” His voice was emotionless as he stared at the girl who nods.

“Ok let’s begin.” He says as he looks to the adults who nod and Edward says, “My brother killed a sea witch.”

Merlin who nods and says, “Undine was killed seventeen years ago by a man named James Barnaby Hunter”

“That be him,” Edward says looking to Merlin worried as he asks, “How bad is it?”

“Well Undine was my wife and her original curse was only supposed to make the child have resemblances to her but it manifested to something else due to not doing the proper curse,” Merlin says as he looks Alex in the eyes. “The girl will never be able to say her father's name.”

Merlin goes to walk away before Ebba grabs his arm. “Why?” She asks with tears in her eyes.

“Because if she does she will become a mindless slave to him and have no control over herself.” Merlin says looking to her and then adds “The only way to break it is too well either kill your child or find Poseidon and ask him to lift the curse.” Edward looks to him confused before asking, “Like the Greek god Poseidon?”

“Yes, now I’m off,” Merlin says leaving the family in shock.

Alex looks to her mother and then uncle before asking, “Who’s my dad?”

“A name you mustn't speak!” Ebba snaps at her and then says, “Now no more questions!”

Ebba storms away as Alex looks to her uncle who says, “Sail the seas and you’ll know. Your last lesson will be today and then you can sail off tonight.” After that Edward walks away to go calm down Ebba. Alex just stands in confusion.

Chapter three: Sailing the seas for Poseidon

After her last lesson, Alex was granted to make her own crew when Ebba wasn’t paying attention or asleep. Alex does so with close friends and some of her uncle's crew offered some choices for her.

As she gathered her crew her father learned of the curse and liked the thought of having a mindless slave under his control so he started looking for her and Poseidon.

Alex gets her crew and says to them, “We shall leave at night so my mother won’t find out. Understood?”

Her crew nods as they all go home to wait for nightfall. Well all except one, it was a boy with sea-green eyes and short shaggy sandy blonde hair he was in a long white sleeve shirt brown pants that were messed up he seemed to be a street rat or was he? He stayed near the boat thinking about Alex and the plan and why she chose him. He thought about her curse and her father as he thought about her father the small waves got a bit bigger before he calmed down calming the waves as well.

A voice spoke from the sea, “Poseidon calm down don’t give yourself away yet… You're seeing if she’s worthy of getting the curse broken.”

The boy huffs, “I know but the curse is bad and I can sense that her father likes the idea of it.”

A sea turtle comes from the water and next to him, “I know but you're still learning we’ll find out more soon.”

Nightfall comes and Alex and her crew meets up with her. They load and board the ship leaving their home town behind. The seas were good for them that night.

“Captian where to?” A young boy asks Alex.

She turns to him and says, “Well my father killed a sea witch not too far from here so let’s start there ok?”

The boy nods and gives directions to the others as Poseidon watches as he helps the others. He has to judge the girl before he helps her out.

They sail to the spot to find nothing. “Umm where to now captain?” The boy asks looking to Alex worried. Poseidon sees and says, “How about we stop at towns and ask about your father? Since we can speak his name we can ask and you can write down the information.” Alex smiles at him and says, “Sure, and thanks umm what your name?”

“Seaton,” Poseidon says to her not wanting to blow his cover.

“Thanks, Seton.” Alex smiles.

They go from town to town asking about James Barnaby Hunter and gathering the information on him that was provided. What they learned was; that he’s a ruthless pirate that kills for fun and at the moment is looking for the sea god to have the most control of the sea.

Alex smiles as she says, “So me and him are after the same person?”

Her crew nods as she says, “Then we’ll meet up with him in the middle of the ocean since that’s the sea gods home.” The crew agrees even Poseidon although he didn’t want to.

Chapter 4: Father?

Alex set sail to the middle of the ocean as does her father.

Both ships travel over some bad waves and through worse storms. Poseidon was trying to avoid this meeting even though it’s useless so, for now, he’s delaying it as much as he can. He worries for Alex because he knows how bad her father really is but since she knew nothing of him Poseidon was forced to go along with it to judge this girl. She was unaware he was who she was looking for, or that he could tell her all about her father. All she knew was what she was told and that he was some homeless kid names, Seton.

The ships both are getting closer to their destination and all Poseidon can do is worry for what is to come.

He goes up to Alex and asks her, “Are you sure you want to do this?”

Alex nods as she looks to him, “Of course I am this is my long-gone father and I’ll break my curse as well… I can’t wait to meet my father.”

Poseidon sighs as he asks, “What if he’s not like what you think he is?”

“Then I’ll know him a bit better,” Alex says with a determined smile.

He smiles as he thinks to himself I like how determined you are. “I honor you for that Alex.” He says as he walks off to another part of the ship.

Alex blushes at that as she thinks to herself Did he just compliment me? Must of I mean it wasn’t flirting right? He’s Just a worried crew member. Alex shakes her head as she tries to get rid of the blush.

Another crew member approaches her and says, “Captain were here and, there is another ship.”

She looks to the girl with short brown hair green eyes and freckles and says, “Thank you, Bella, go tell the others.”

Bella nods as she does as told.

Alex makes her way out and so does James. The captains look to each other before James asks, “Who are you and why do you approach my ship.”

Alex looks to him and says, “You and I are after the same person. The god of the seas.”

James raises an eyebrow before saying, “You didn't answer my question brat!”

Alex is shocked by her father's words before saying, “I am your daughter from Ebba. You left me with your brother.”

James fakes being shocked as he inwardly smirked as he says with fake happiness, “My own flesh and blood! I’m so sorry I called you a brat I can’t see you fully from my ship. You and your crew may come to board my ship and we shall talk about what needs to be said.”

Alex nods as Poseidon senses something is up but stays quiet to see what she’ll do. Alex gets her crew to board her father's ship. James smirks as he walks up to Alex's arms open as he says, “So darling what's your name?” Alex takes a step back seeing that his white collared shirt is ripped and covered in blood as she puts her hand out to shake his, “Well I’m Alexis Hunter” James pulls her into a hug as he says, “Nice to meet you, Alexis Hunter.”

Alex looks to him as she hugs him back, “Why are you looking for the sea god?”

“To find you.” He holds her tighter as Alex hears the sound of her crew struggling against her father's. She struggles in his grip to turn and see what's going on only to see that her crew has been tied up and some were injured or well knocked out.

“Why did you do this?” She turns to her father and asks.

He just smirks to her as he says, “Fire”

As that is said Alex turns to see cannons going off at her ship. “No!” Alex yells seeing her own ship go down. She turns back to her father and yells, “You monster! Why would you do that?!”

James smirks to her as he leans down to look her in her purple eyes, “So you and your crew can’t escape.” He laughs after saying that and adds in, “Don’t you know anything about me kid? I’m the most feared pirate of the seven seas.”

“So you don’t want to help me break my curse?” Alex asks confused at the change in character.

He laughs as he says, “No I want to kill Poseidon so I can control you until I don’t need you anymore.” Alex looks to him and says, “I’ll never say your name and I’ll never let you control me.”

James laughs as he points out one fact to her, “I have your crew tied up and at my mercy which I’m said to have none of. So rethink this because if you think you have a choice you don’t.”

Alex looks to him and says, “Fine I’ll say your name.”

“Good” James smirks as he puts his hands together.

Poseidon starts to worry more now as James approaches him and says to Alex, “Say it now or I start killing your crew.”

Alex takes a breath, “Ok I will I will just stop and leave Seton alone.”

James pulls out a knife, “Then say it.”

Alex looks to her crew, “I’m sorry I did this to you.” As she says that her father grabs Poseidon's sandy locks and puts the knife up to his throat.

“James” The Crew gasps in shock.

“Barnaby” Her father smirks in victory.

“Hunter” James steps away from her crew and says, “Let’s test run this”

Ales’s crew gasps in fear as James goes up to Alex.

Chapter Five: Control?

James walks up to Alex whose eye has a pale purple glaze over them.

“Alex?” James asks.

“What are your orders Captain?” Alex asks her father in an emotionless voice.

James smirks as he says, “Perfect, my orders are for you to get rid of your wannabe crew.”

Alex nods before she unwillingly steps up to the girl named Bella. There were tears in Bella’s eyes as Alex asks, “How do I get rid of them?”

“Kill them,” James says as he walks away.

Alex unwillingly pulls a knife out of her pocket and points it at Bella. Bella is balling as Alex has tears running down her cheeks. Poseidon could tell she didn’t want to do this. Alex got closer and Poseidon shouts, “STOP!” This causes everyone to look to him as waves hit the ship at all angles.

A crab was brought up with the waves that cut his bonds before another wave sent a trident flying his way. His hair blew in the wind as a crown of water formed around his head and his hair slowly became a seafoam green color the water fell. He stepped in between Bella and Alex.

“I am Poseidon and I have judged Alex thoroughly.” He says looking to Alex his eyes glowing with a pale blue. James steps up and his jaw drops in shock seeing that the boy was the sea god.

“Kill him, Alex!” James barks an order to Alex.

Her eyes glow and she heads towards Poseidon. Poseidon steps back as he says, “Alex I lift your curse.” He lifts the trident up and backs down. A burst of water goes to her as she rushes at him with the knife. As the water hits her the knife penetrates Poseidon’s chest.

He freezes as Alex falls back pulling the knife with her as the curse is lifted. He clutches his chest to try and stop the bleeding as he falls to his knees as the curse goes away Alex still looks how she does but she won't be controlled.

“Alex I want you to know I would have saved you no matter what,” Poseidon says with his last breath he wheezes a painful breath and his body slumps over. He goes back to how he appeared to the crew as Alex stands up and blinks in shock.

That was the last order she had followed from her father before she and her crew took control of the ship and gave Poseidon a proper goodbye.
