Is This True?

Anticipation is running high for The Mandalorian Season 2, which premiers this Friday, October 30th. Ever since the first season, the hype and the merchandise have only gotten bigger. When the trailer for season 2 was released, the fanbase exploded with excitement and questions, many of which involved Baby Yoda and the plot of the season.

The trailer for season 2 of The Mandalorian was much stronger than the special look that was released during Monday Night Football a week ago. The special look didn’t show much of any major plot points or any new character reveals. And even though fans were excited for anything new regarding this much anticipated season, it did lead to even more questions involving the season, which has been incredibly difficult to get any spoilers.

The first trailer showed mystery, teased new characters, and showed an evolving story. One of the characters that was revealed in this first trailer is the currently anonymous character played by WWE star Sasha Banks.

Sasha Banks did take some time to share her thoughts on being in The Mandalorian and season 2, although she was, expectedly, tight-lipped with details. In the interview with The New Day’s “Feel the Power” podcast via Comic Book Movie, Sasha Banks shared her excitement in being cast in The Mandalorian.

“It still has not hit me. There is not much I can talk about yet. All I can say is I’m in it. I can’t believe it. I’m so excited and can’t wait for everybody to see it."

Sasha Banks also said that she hasn’t seen any of the episodes yet in season 2, so she is going in blind like the rest of us.

"Season 2 is going to be so incredible. I have not seen the episodes. I probably won’t even know what’s going on actually (until it airs). It’s so secretive."

Lucasfilm has always been tight-lipped and secretive about their projects, for good reason. The experience of seeing the movies and shows for the first time is unforgettable. Even though it can be incredibly difficult sometimes to deal with the suspense involving a new show or movie, when they do finally come out, the reward is amazing. The reveal of “Baby Yoda” in Chapter 1 of The Mandalorian season 1 was a stunner. Everyone was shocked and it was all the fans could talk about for months. Baby Yoda became an instant draw for the show.

To help with the secrecy involving the projects, Lucasfilm keeps much of the major information away from as many of the cast as possible, and only reveals things on a need to know basis. This helps take away the possibility of leaks beforehand, which in turn, leads to more suspense for the projects.

And to add to the mystery, no one seems to know exactly who Sasha Banks is playing in the show. She will most likely remain a mystery until season 2 airs, adding to the excitement and reveal to the fans.

Of course, this has led to several popular theories involving who she could be playing. One of the most popular is that she is playing Sabine Wren, a character in the Star Wars: Rebels show, and a favorite of many of the fans. However, images from the two trailers also show that she could be a Jedi or a Force user in general. Or, perhaps, she is another Mandalorian affiliated with Sabine or Ahsoka.

Whatever the case may be, her character is one of the most anticipated elements of season 2. It will be interesting to see what the new storyline will entail. And rest assured, there are sure to be some major surprises and “aha” moments thrown in there if season 2 is going to be anything like the first season.
