Warning! Possible spoilers to Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunter and The Mandalorian

With The Book of Boba Fett currently only having two episodes out, there are already rumors circulating that a major original trilogy character will be making a guest cameo in a later episode. According to The Sun, Harrison Ford was spotted on the set of The Book of Boba Fett between filming Indiana Jones 5 in London. Fans have already been speculating if the legendary character Han Solo would appear in The Book of Boba Fett and now it just might be true.

Harrison Ford first portrayed Han Solo in the first Star Wars film A New Hope on May 25, 1977. For any newer fans who have not gotten around to seeing the original trilogy yet, Han Solo was the gun slinging smuggler that aided Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia in bringing down the Empire. A Han Solo cameo might not be much of a surprise to some fans but the thought of Harrison Ford himself once again portraying Han Solo is a shock. Harrison Ford himself has not been shy about sharing his thoughts on this fan favorite character. In an interview with ABC back in 2010, Harrison Ford shared his opinion:

“As a character, he was not interesting to me, I thought he should have died in the last one.”

Hearing that he has been seen on another Star Wars set almost seems unbelievable. Some fans have thought that Alden Ehrenreich would return as Han Solo after playing the character in the major motion film Solo, especially considering that Harrison Ford is reaching the young age of 79. However, thanks to some movie magic they will apparently be de-aging the actor to fit with the character’s timeline for The Book of Boba Fett series.

As for the relationship between Han Solo and Boba Fett, it will be interesting to see how they will act when reunited. According to canon, there has not been much interaction between the two characters since The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. At least, they have not spent much time together after Han Solo was out of the frozen carbonite. Thanks to the comic series Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunter we got to see just how troublesome it was for Boba Fett to deliver Han to Jabba the Hutt. Considering how Boba Fett kept things professional with Jabba at the end, and how he now intends to rule with respect we can possibly expect things to be more civil between the two, at least from Boba Fett’s side. We will have to wait and see how Han Solo and Fennec Shand react to the reunion.

For other possible cameos, we are sure to see the return of the Millennium Falcon and possibly even Chewbacca himself. There is no telling how Han will play into The Book of Boba Fett, but fans are excited nonetheless. Fans are also eagerly waiting the possible return of Luke Skywalker since he has already made an appearance at the end of The Mandalorian. Some might even dare to hope to see Princess Leia. However, with the unfortunate passing of Carrie Fisher in December 27, 2016 there really is no telling.

In truth, there are countless of cameos possible in The Book of Boba Fett. As long as the story does not hang on too tightly to nostalgia for the sake of ratings, similar to the sequel trilogy, The Book of Boba Fett should be in good shape. With The Book of Boba Fett expected to only have seven episodes we would not have to wait long to see Harrison Ford reprise the role of Han Solo once more. Let us know what you think of seeing Harrison Ford return as Han Solo and what other characters do you think could make an appearance?
