It was a bright sunny day, and it was sixty degrees out, when suddenly the wind started blowing gusty winds.

The cell towers were down in Pensacola Florida, and I took this chance to reflect on old memories and the "Good Old Days."

Pay Phones

I remembered the pay phones, I used to use while holding my cell phone in my hand with no reception because the cell towers were down. No internet, no camera, no calling your best friend in the world. No nothing.

Reading A Book

Going back to the good old days of reading a book in silence and serenity. I used to go out in the field on our farm, and read a good book. I liked mysteries, and human interest stories the most.

And I like to Read to my Children and Grandchildren

Their favorite outing was to a baseball game or the public library.

Friends Talking To Each Other

Seems like no one talks with friends these days, yet the cell phone rules. You can see people talking on their cell phones and not paying attention to where they are going.

Things have changed with technology, people don't talk to one another like they used to, or have lunch like the used to. or listen to the radio like they used to.

I Long For The Good Old Days

Radio and 8 Track

I long for the days, I used to play the transistor radio. WCAO is the channel I got on my radio, on the outskirts of Baltimore, in Baltimore County, and every single car had a car radio in it, where we could play tunes of the Beach Boys, and Elvis Presley and Roy Orbison. Oh how I long for those days.

Hound dog, and Pretty Woman blared on the airways.

And if you were lucky enough you could have an eight track player in your vehicle, and if you were not, you could certainly have a cassette player in your car.

These will work just fine. Today with the streaming, and downloading of music, I miss the cassette player even more.

Things have changed but not for the better, as far as I am concerned. I still miss the "good old days", and I miss the simplicity of things back then.

Like a Television antenna, and I am proud to say, I still have one, but you can't get many channels on one.

There was nothing beats watching a professional baseball game in person, or shooting some hoops on your home net. Jump rope and hop scotch was the all time favorite for little girls, and I could play hours jumping, and it helped you learn your numbers too.

I remember drawing this board with chalk well. I remember playing hop scotch with the other children. We don't spend enough time together anymore, and I grieve that my Grandchildren don't get a taste of the good old days.

I can yearn for the good old days to bring back jump roping. I never see children jumping rope these days.

Old Fashioned Barbecues

Let's not forget the old fashioned barbecues outside, where you cooked hamburgers and hot dogs, and steaks or anything you wanted to cook.

Drive in's

And not to forget the drive in's and the fantastic cars they had back then. They were replaced by McDonalds and Wendy's.

Sock Hops and Drive in Movies

The drive in movie was the greatest. We had one in every town. It was where you didn't have to watch the movie, you could make out instead.

Oh, don't forget the sock hops, in school, and the Sadie Hawkins dances, and the senior proms.

They were the days, I will never forget.

I regret that my Grandchildren will not grow up with these memories.

What would you dream about if you could not scroll anymore?

I would dream about a kinder simpler time, where the world was not moving so fast with technology, and people actually talked to each other, instead of looking at their phones, and tripping over the sidewalk texting each other.

If you talk to each other, you get to see their SMILE, not their lol, which is bound to brighten your day.

What do you think?

I Prefer The Good Old Days Anytime and I would give up my cell phone up any day to go backward in time.
