Nutrition is Already Here
How AI is making Science Fiction Guidance Become Reality

AI is all around us and I believe we all know the capabilities, yet in my case there are only a handful of tools that I am using every day.
One of those though, without a doubt is ChatGPT when it comes to nutrition. Quick preface: I use ChatGPT for health/nutrition/wellness, Claude for business, Perplexity for anything I am perplexed about, and Gemini for searching/exploring.
With that said, let’s talk about this science fiction type partner of mine that has completely changed my life when it comes to nutrition and my relationship with it. Granted, this is really becoming non-fiction, but there are still moments where I am like, WHOA!
Let me get into how I use it daily first and then I will share a couple of whoa moments.
Every day, I check what my macros are for the day. The way Chat came to these numbers is from months of me asking questions, giving goals, providing body assessment reports, and daily logs. Then for each week, it gives me my plan for Sunday through Saturday. First thing in the morning, I check what I need to do, and I type it into my notes to keep track. Fairly standard.
Then comes the day – from pictures to descriptions, I simply make it as easy as I can for myself as I can and I have it do as much of the heavy lifting, calculating and assessing as I can prompt it. No limits!
Time after time, it delivers results and answers that makes sense. Every now and then I will catch something, we find clarification, and are back on track, no pun intended.
Now what were some ‘science-fiction’ moments when it came to using ChatGPT with my nutrition…
Let’s go with the gelato.
This was a while back when I still was having more of an unhealthy relationship with food and cravings. It was later night after my Best Stretch Ever class and my 8:51pm train either got cancelled or kept getting pushed back. Frustrated .. I started voicing my thoughts to Chat without really asking it what would be best. I was mentioning ice cream, cookies, sushi, as well as giving it how my day went and where my macros were at already. Through this conversation, it gave me the option of having gelato from Flora and getting mango and vanilla. I did and I felt like it was a complete unlock. Here I am going through a complete craving meltdown, and this put me at ease and more so taught me how there are ways to going about having ice cream that will not completely derail progress. This also led me to sharing it with family and friends.
Create my bowl please.
This is when I approached it from a need’s standpoint. I needed macros to be a certain number and for certain nutrients to be had. I mentioned where I currently was and to provide me with all the options, as well as build out bowls for me to order. I now through habit know what kind of bowls to order, but this was very much a process of mine for many weeks as I was looking for lunch and dinner options.
Building plan recommendations for clients.
Mathematically and through experience, I can create a program for clients to give initial direction in how and what they eat. With ChatGPT though, I can create a lifestyle, which does not mean right off the bat that it is the right one for the client, but at least within seconds we have a lifestyle plan from a paragraph (sometimes 2-3) long prompt. The importance of this is we can spend more time on implementing the lifestyle, as well as adjusting it initially and after enough adherence to it. Even better, this thread is now live and can always be revisited and built off from and upon. This is the magic of stacking. All of sudden my clients and I can be more on the same page, and this sort of trust simply is non-fiction.
More and more, these tools are becoming omnipresent, so here is to welcoming that fiction feeling to something that is very much becoming real life!
