CBzz... Bzzz...BZZZ... Kai's phone vibrated louder trying to alert her of the incoming phone call. Kai rolled over, picked up the phone and saw it was her mother. She quickly silenced the phone and got out of bed, knowing already why she was calling, and wanted nothing to do with it. Getting up out of bed, her cat, Fluffie, greeted her with her morning yowl of displeasure at her sleeping in.

"Hey there girlie, gimme a minute and I will be right there." Kai instructed the creamy colored cat, as it walked close to her legs. Once Fluffie saw her headed to the food closet she raced off to meet her there. Kai couldn't help but laugh at her anticipation , once completing the feeding Kai focused on fixing herself some food. When she was almost finished she had a steady knock at her front door. Fluffie took off towards the door, sniffed at the bottom near the floor then ran back towards the bedroom. She stood up to go see who was at the door. Peeking through the door blinds, she didn't see anyone there. All she saw was, a brown paper box.

Kai opened the door to get a better view of this suspicious box. The box couldn't have been any bigger than a small U.S. mail parcel. Looking around she didn't see anybody, nor did she see any strange vehicles. Almost as if the box just magical appeared at her door. Seeing that it was unmarked, not even addressed to her she simply stepped back inside and closed the door. She grabbed her phone and begin to call her friends, to see if they were up to this suspicious brown paper box at her door. To her surprise, apparently none of her friends knew about this package. The majority of the conversations were her friends telling her to open it, and to stop being a skeptic. After the last phone call ended with her friend, Amy, trying to reassure her that "not everyone is out to get you" she hung up her phone shaking her head. Kai had a choice to make, walking back to the door, she peered out the blinds once more, only this time a little pink bow was on top? Kai took a step back from the door, now completely unsure of what to do.

"Am I crazy?" She thought looking back at the box. There was a pink bow on the box for sure. She let out a deep steady breath, contemplating her next move. Everyone pretty much told her she should just go on ahead and open the brown box, that now had pink bow on top. However that was the deciding factor for her, that little pink bow. As if now this brown paper box was a gift of some sorts. Walking away from the door she pulled out her phone, realizing she still had one person she hadn't called. Her Mother. AMother knows best they say. Kai bit her lower lip becoming a little nervous, knowing she had ignored her phone call earlier. She had already known what she was calling to talk with her about and it was a conversation she had been avoiding. Quickly pressing the 2 key her mothers name, Mama Iris, popped up on the screen. No sooner had she heard the ringing a loud thud came from the far right of house, where she had a little sun room where she kept her paints and colors. Unfortunately, there was also a door that led to the outside in the sunroom.

"Kai? Hello, can you hear me?" Iris voice came through loud and clear. Kai swallow hard hearing her mothers smooth yet reassuring sounding voice on the other end.

"Um, hey listen you didn't happen to send me a brown paper box with a little pink bow on it did you?" Kai asked while looking down the hall way towards the sunroom.

"Kai, repeat what you just said." Her mother tone was stern all of a sudden.

"I said 'Did you send me a brown box with a pink-" Before she could finish she heard honking horns and squealing tires coming from her mothers side of the phone.

"Did you open? DON'T open it! I am coming! Grab the box, go in your room lock the door and wait for me."

"But Mom? I-"

"Kai do it NOW! You need to do this Kai." Kai ran to the door yanked it opened and snatched the box as her mother instructed. She shut the door and started towards her room when she saw sunlight coming down the hallway from the day room.

"Mom I think someone is in her." Kai whispered now sprinting to her room and locking the door. Maybe it was Fluffie? Yes, it had to be Fluffie he liked going inside of the sunroom for naptime.

"Kai I am coming." Her mothers voice sounded stressed this time. To make matters worse, Kai realized she wasn't alone. Her heart sank as she looked at her bed, there in the middle was Fluffie curled up sleeping.

"Mom someone is-" Her door shook violently as the intruder hit the door. Fluffie jumped awake and darted towards her. She quickly put her night stand chair up against the door.

"Mom you have to hurry!" At this point all she heard coming from her moms phone were angry honks and tires squealing. She began looking for something to defend herself with, when the intruder spoke to her.

"Hey, hey, you wanna play a game called "Why didn't the girl open the gift?" she yelled as she hit the door . Kai made a questioning face and took a step back.

"I am going to get you, you know that, right?" She laughed as she began to make the door shake. Kai could hear slapping something on to her door, then she heard beeping sounds.

"Oh come on! Is that necessary? Is blowing up my door necessary?!" Kai couldn't help but yell out in frustration. She was answered by the women beginning to laugh even more hysterical.

"All you had to do was open the BROWN. PAPER. BOX!" She yelled from a far as the explosive charges she set began to rapidly beep. Kai dove under the bed while scooping up Fluffie, just as the door began to explode. Wood and dust particles went every where and some even managed to get under the bed. She could see a faint outline of some black boots, that if she wasn't in her predicament she would have thought they were really cute.

"Where are you, huh?" She asked in a teasingly manner. Slowly walking into the room, spinning around. Kai had to contain a cough building up in her throat. She knew she had to act fast, she did not want this crazy women to get ahold of her. Where was her mom? And was this crazy person after her?? She saw the boots making their way to her bathroom inside of her room, mentally counting to three she got up from under the bed. Despite her being quite, she still managed to step on a piece of door debris. Not waiting to see what the crazy women would do, she ran for the door. Kai ignored the womens screams as she fumbled at the door to get it open not looking back she sprinted towards the road.

WHERE was here mom?! As if hearing her thoughts looking to her right she saw her mothers red, work suv speeding towards her.

"Mom!" Kai screamed, as Fluffie got free from her grasp. She couldn't be worried about the cat now, her life was in danger.

"THUD" was what the dart sounded like when it landed in Kai's leg. She faltered, trying not to fall from her leg slowly going numb.

"Mom!" She screamed as she looked back and saw the crazy women aiming a dart gun at her. Another one landed on her shouder causing her to nearly fall down. If her mother hadn't pulled up she would have received another dart to her body.

Iris had the car door open for her so she practically fell into the car, seeing her inside the car, Iris put the vehicle in reverse getting them out of harms way.

Kai couldnt hear her mothers frantic questions as she dozed off to sleep.

Waking up Kai saw she was what looked like it was a hospital room with an IV inside of her arm.

"Mom?" She whispered. Her mother came walking into the room with a look of relief. Also she wasn't alone. Two agents in the typical black suits followed behind her.

"Kai, these gentlemen work with a special task force dealing with biological war and they need to ask you some questions." Iris began. One agent pulled out a a recorder and the other one took out a notepad. The one with the notepad looked at her and asked

"So why didn't you open the box?"

Kai made a funny face and looked at her mom before saying,

" Who just opens up unmarked and unannounced brown paper boxes?"

"Ask that to the 49 people who have received the exact kind of box you did." The recorder guy said a bit sternly as if it was somewho her fault they did.

"What was in the box?" She asked curiously. The three older adults looked at each other grimly before Iris spoke.

"It was a serum, that when injected makes the user subjective to certain frequency waves." Iris looked at her.

" Are you trying to say that they are being hypnotized?" Kai asked, skeptically."

"We don't know much about it to be frank however we do know that these 49 ordinary people have join forces with the Head Organization since receiving the same package you have delivered here today." Iris nodded towards notepad guy who then said,

"Look we know you have been through alot we see it an chance to get in on the inside of this Organization." Kai gave him a crazy look,

"What are you talking about?"

"See I told you guys she wouldn't want to do this" Recorder guy sighed, tucking away his deveice.

" Kai, they will come looking for you again, our team of scientist are breaking down the serum to understand it. We can protect you if you help us do this." Iris spoke bending down to look at her in the eyes.

"Mom I don't know if I can do this." Kai was so uncertain, why was this happening to her? A box! A brown paper box with a pink bow on top, had gotten her into a "difficult situation"

However when she looked at her mother she knew she could trust her. Her mother did this kind stuff all the time, she did work for some kind a government sector. Taking a deep breath, Kai shook her head yes. Recorder guy cleared his throat and took out his deveice once more, taking the hint Kai said,

"Yes I will help you."

"Welcome to the team Kai," Iris said handing her a ID badge saying "Junior Agent".

"Wait you know I was going to say yes?"

"Of course." Iris winked "Mother always knows.
