New Theories on Eternal Life Medicine

Concepts in extending human life indefinetely

Of course, the purpose of medicine is to extend human life. Fundamental problems in relying on medicine alone to extend lifespan have been (1) the problem that development of new medicines to advance life necessarily involves testing that inevitable results in loss of life; and (2) the possibility that there is a fixed limit to the human lifespan, beyond which the aging process cannot be modulated, and wherein it no longer makes any practical sense to continue in this lifetime.

Yet, I remain a true believer in the possibility of eternal life. Unconsciously, my mind always seems to concoct new theories on how we can remain forever young.

My latest worry is that someday my body will use up its last original stem cell, from the time of my conception, and that from that point on, my aging process will become irreversible.

So I've imagined that space aliens might yet possibly drop from the sky the seeds of rejuvenation of my existing physical body. Some particle, protein, DNA -- something from space -- that would obviate the need we have for our own original stem cells. So that human evolution would become personal evolution; not just through education, career, family, etc.; but in the fabric of our physical existences.

These expectations might seem outlandish to most people.

So I might mention a few things science is doing to reduce loss of life in the testing phases of its clinical trials.

First and foremost is to use computers to simulate the way various drugs might act in the human body. One such example that is currently being used in the race for a cure to Covid19 is found at foldingathome.org. On this site, which anyone can download on their computer, the computational power of each user's computer is combined to create 'hands around the world' supercomputer.

In today's world of constant political conflict, this website is not only good for science. but a source of light for those who really don't want to live in a world full of hatred.

Perhaps I've been brainwashed by the 'Star Trek' television and movie series into believing that peace among the nations of the earth, particularly in our centrally disputed city of Jerusalem, is a pre-condition for entry into the community of planets, at which time we would be given access to technologies, techniques, and medicines which indeed would allow us to live forever.

Yet, I wonder: is it possible to live eternally, when we fight as soldiers in war? Is there any shield we could develop that could never be penetrated by the future technologies of our adversaries?

I tend to believe that we all, at some point in our youth, believe that we can live forever, and that eternal life would be a good idea. Perhaps somehow we could go back to that moment of time. and freeze ourselves there. so that in fact we would no longer show signs of aging.

There is, in fact, an area of science focused on eternal life. One of the leaders of this movement is Vladimir P. Skulachev -the Dean of the School of Bioengineering and Bioinformatics at MSU.

Skulachev believes excessive oxygen in the blood is the cause of decay and early death. He suggests, instead, substances such as “mitochondrial electricity” and the “Skulachev Ion,” which are penetrating ions that are electrophoretically targeted to mitochondria.

Just by the description, one can imagine what is involved: eliminating traditional human energy creation involving the breakdown of food, and the associated oxygen input; and its replacement with electrical energy.

To me, this sounds like "Terminator" type robotics, where a preserved human body is ambulated like a drone.

Apparently, the risk factor is the decay of the flesh, which might cause the humanoid to revert to the normal food consumption-based energetics.

Actually, in the context of war, it may not be the issue for someone like Vladimir. The humanoid flesh in his beings are only used to cover up the underlying conflict between man and machine.

Yet, as this conflict endures, we find these humanoids having the need for more of their own kind, by hunting down vulnerable human ladies for procreation. One can only imagine what will happen to these babies.

Eventually, the remaining humans, who are not caught into Vladimir's diabolical plot, will be sure to hide themselves to prevent becoming unwitting co-conspirators in Vladimir's plot to replace humans with zombies and the possibly undisguised robots.

So, it seems to me, while recognizing the potential material gains of peace on earth, through greater access to space age technologies from distant planets, we have not yet achieved that objective, and must, despite our predeliction against hatred and hostility, continue to serve our individual nations for the time being.

There are many indications that the younger generations see the fault in our old-fashioned ways, and hope to lead us someday into a better, more peaceful way of living.

This probably involves some evolutionary advancement in the human species. Technically, as we face the current pandemic of Covid19, only those who develop an immunity to the virus will survive and propogate chidren. While vaccination is important, for those who don't keep lifestyle recommendations and have natural antibodies, it will be a slow death for an entire subspecies of humanoids.
