Marvel has been on a truly stellar streak of great Star Wars comics over several months. In particular, Charles Soule has cemented his place as one of the greatest Star Wars writers. His work on Star Wars: Darth Vader, Light of the Jedi, and Crimson Reign have all been amazing stories, and they have added a lot to the Star Wars mythos. Soule has crafted some of the best Star Wars stories in the comics, and he doesn’t seem to be done yet. Marvel just revealed their Star Wars comic solicitations for June, and it promises more big things from Charles Soule.

StarWars.com recently revealed the June comic solicitations, and it looks to be a spectacular departure from Soule’s previous Star Wars comics. It will also be a massive story for Soule’s 25th issue of Star Wars. The 25th issue will be an anthology issue that will tie together several stories between the three trilogies. It will reportedly start with a prequel trilogy story following Anakin and Obi-Wan. Then it will tell a story featuring Darth Vader and his Imperial Inquisitors.

Finally, fans will see the return of Poe Dameron in an encounter with Kylo Ren. The description on the website reads: “With stories set from the Prequel to the sequel eras, experience new tales of OBI-WAN & ANAKIN, DARTH VADER, POE DAMERON, and KYLO REN. Join Charles Soule, along with his previous artistic collaborators, for this era-spanning celebration!” This seems to be setting up a pretty fantastic issue in June.

Not only does this issue promise amazing stories from Charles Soule, but it also features artwork from some amazing artists. The issue will feature a wide variety of variant covers. The main cover’s art will be done by Carlo Pagulayan. Then the main variants will be done by Giuseppe Camuncoli, Phil Noto, Steve McNiven, Alex Maleev, and Will Sliney. Last but not least, there will be a couple of special variants. There is an action figure variant by John Tyler Christopher, and there will also be a Lucasfilm Pride cover whose artist has not been announced yet.

The Star Wars website also gave a look at the main cover by Carlo Pagulayan, and it looks amazing. It perfectly blends the three trilogies into one cover. The characters featured in each anthology story are pictured front and center on the cover, and each character compliments each other perfectly on the issue’s cover. The others will definitely be visually stunning with how amazing this cover looks, and they will probably be a must-have for collectors.

Star Wars has a reputation for being like an exclusive club that very few creators get to join, and often times those creators only get to work on one project in the Star Wars universe. Charles Soule is a rare example of someone who has entered the Star Wars club and excelled at everything he has done. From the Old Republic to the original trilogy, Soule has created some fantastic stories that have brought new light and new perspectives to the Star Wars universe as it is known.

Comics like Crimson Reign have worked to fill the blanks between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He has even given characters like Qi’ra a new life in the comics. Obviously, this would be impossible without talented writers like Carlo Pagulayan and Will Sliney. Together they have crafted some of the best Star Wars comics of all time. That is why it is so exciting to see this team working on another new Star Wars comic. This anthology of stories seems like it will be nothing short of amazing, and fans won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on it.
