After months of waiting for a glimpse at the new characters in the Han Solo, a few images have finally emerged. Thanks to TMZ, we finally have our first look at the main characters in Han Solo, specifically Woody Harrelson's character, Beckett. The images in their report depict a young Han Solo (Aiden Ehrenriech), Chewbacca, and Beckett (Woody Harrelson) meeting with an unidentified female character. Check out the images below:
The woman in question is unidentifiable because of the angle the picture was taken at, but with speculation already cropping up, fans have theorized she could be Emilia Clarke's character. Of course, that doesn't seem believable when the woman in question is almost as tall as Harrelson who is practically 6 feet tall, and Emilia Clarke is only a little taller than five feet. With that known, the unidentified character standing across from Solo and Beckett is likely another unrelated character, maybe it's Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Bridge has been cast in an unspecified, lead role, so she could in fact be this new character.
As for the scene itself, the images don't offer much in terms of context. But we can tell that young Han, Chewy, and Beckett are meeting with someone in a large room, for what we can assume is an important mission / metting. Perhaps, the scene has to do with Han and Beckett stealing something. Beckett is set to play a criminal / mentor to the young Han, meaning this scene could be part of a mission they're undertaking, possibly one Beckett cooked up with the female character standing beside them. Or, maybe they're being charged with some type of crime.
Both Beckett and Han are criminals in a sense, making it believable for them to be charged with a crime. Of course, the meaning behind this scene could turn out to have a variety of different context, making it quite difficult to determine what the scene is actually about.
Regardless of the meaning behind these images, the one thing they do tell us, is that Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Beckett are going to be working together, on at least one job. And while that aspect of the movie is all but confirmed, we're still left questioning what will Beckett's fate be, considering his absence from other #StarWars movies implies that he met an early demise? Then again, the galaxy is so vast that Beckett could still be roaming around somewhere, despite not being seen in the original Star Wars trilogy.
Han Solo opens in theaters on May 25, 2018.
