Mysterious objects suddenly appear in uninhabited desert

It is never a natural product, is it man-made or is there another reason?

No Man's Desert

It is well known that more than 100 kilometers southwest of London, England, sits the world-famous Stonehenge. In the middle of the wilderness, a regular-shaped boulder stands there in a circle. Although its function and construction process remains a mystery, scientists have still made some relevant speculations based on its shape.

Recently, however, another mysterious "megalith" was discovered in a desert in Utah, USA. It is the same as Stonehenge, I do not know what kind of people stand there, but more mysterious than Stonehenge. This "boulder" square, the shape is more regular, but also more seemingly unbelievable. Especially since it stands in the middle of the desert off the beaten track, only recently discovered, it is difficult to imagine how long it has been waiting here before.

According to reports, this "boulder" was first discovered by a biologist from the Utah Department of Public Safety Bureau of Aviation. On November 18, local time, he and several other colleagues formed a research team to fly over Utah's famous Red Desert to investigate the number of bighorn sheep there. Just as he was looking down into the desert, he suddenly noticed a flash of light that shone brightly below.

Bret Hutchinson, the helicopter pilot in charge of the mission, recalled in an interview with KS-TV in Salt Lake City, "It was like he said, 'Shoo! Shoo! Shoo! Turn back, turn back!' So I asked him, 'What?' He said, 'There's something back here, let's go back and take a look.'"

So the helicopter turned back there and landed nearby, and everyone went over to see what was there. It turned out that the flashing light was a square metal pillar, which they estimated to be about 10-12 feet (3-3.6 meters) high. Other than that, there was nothing.

They were fascinated by the sight before them and thought they had found something mysterious. Especially in this desert, this lone metal pillar was located in one of the many low canyons, which made it seem like entering a fantasy world. The team members also remembered various science fiction movies and joked that in case someone suddenly disappeared, the others would have to run away immediately.

No Man's Desert

Such a paranormal event did not happen, but this does not affect the mystery of this metal pillar in any way.

Hutchinson also told the TV station, "I speculate that it could be some back wave artist or artwork, either a hardcore fan of science fiction movies."

The science fiction movie he was referring to was the 1968 science fiction movie "2001: A Space Odyssey". In this movie, a mysterious boulder also appears out of nowhere in the same way, and this boulder seems to have the ability to guide the ancestors of humans, who were still apes at the time, to develop rapidly, and stand out from their kind and gradually rise to the top of the food chain.

Of course, he said this, but also half-joking nature. In the original novel of this movie, the author Arthur C. Clark described the size of the monolith as 1:4:9 scale. The metal pillar standing in the Utah desert, the width and height are relatively close to this ratio, but the length is different. In addition, we can also see from the above movie screen, the movie boulder is black, while the mysterious metal pillar of Utah is showing a clear metallic luster. In short, if someone is by "2001: A Space Odyssey" before setting up this metal pillar, we can only say that he is also too perfunctory, simply imitating very differently.

If it is not a prank, then the matter is even more bizarre, in the end, who put it up here?

Hutchinson said, "In all my years of flying, this is one of the most bizarre things I've ever encountered."

Given the remote location of the metal pillar, it is easy to cause the people who come to observe to get into trouble, and eventually have to waste public resources to rescue, so the local authorities are tight-lipped about the exact location of the pillar.

Even so, these policies do not stop those who are curious to explore the heart of the people. On the Internet, there are many discussions and even special posts, and some citizens say they have largely narrowed down the search area to get closer to the goal of finding the pillar.

The location of this metal pillar is indeed very remote, and there are not many decent roads nearby. Although it is suspected that some people transported it, in the end how to transport it, it is puzzling.

But from the published detailed photos, the metal column appears to be a few metal plates held together by screws. If this is the case, then it is possible that it is hollow and the weight should not be too exaggerated.

Of course, every time such bizarre things appear on the Internet, some people will attribute the cause to aliens. Including those wildlife biologists who found the metal pillar on Nov. 18 and made such jokes. At the time, one of them laughed as he took a cell phone to film his companions going forward to explore the metal pillar, saying, "Well, a brave group of explorers about to go down and explore, uh, alien life forms."

Others did more than a just joke, attributing the metal pillars to aliens and making a fuss about it. But it turns out that when these wildlife scientists got close to it, nothing spooky happened. A closer look shows that someone went through the trouble of cutting a hole in the hard ground and inserting the metal pillar into it, only it is not yet known who it is.

Whether it is the method of installation or the metal pillar itself, there seems to be nothing supernatural about it. Therefore, we still have a lot of reasons to believe that this metal pillar came from some people full of curiosity, rather than any paranormal event.

However, at the very least, this incident has provided some gossip for people in the epidemic. Someone online even joked, "If it was erected here by aliens, then we have to warn these aliens: it's illegal to install artwork on pubic land without authorization, no matter what planet you're from."
