If you're a fan of comic books, you know that two major companies around the world - Marvel and DC - make entertainment content based on those books. The slightly darker side that some superpower movie buffs barely realize is about a renewed feud between the two companies. Of course, it is not the struggle of good against evil, but of a struggle over revenue, competitive position, and imaginary worlds.

New video games, online games, movies, and series have brought the classic DC-Marvel conflict back to the fore. The difference between them becomes one of the lines of cultural division between the audience. To show the most frequently asked question, which do you like to follow his stories more, Superman or Spiderman?

Who is DC?

DC Comics ranks as one of the oldest and most successful American comic book companies, famous for having many superhero characters such as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. The initials "DC" came from the company's popular Detective Comics series in which the character Batman appeared.

The company was introduced to the public in 1934, where it was initially known as "Allied National Publications". However, in 1946 the name was changed to "National Comics Publications" and finally became DC Comics in 1977.

The DC Universe is the fictional universe where many DC Comics publications depict a multiverse made up of planets and timelines with some storylines that take place within alternate worlds that exist outside of mainstream continuity.

Marvel Corporation

A large American publisher of comics and related media such as video games. It is best known for its superhero characters, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, the green Hulk and Captain America.

Marvel Comics was not the original name of the company, but the first name was Timely Comics, and then Atlas Comics.

The Marvel universe is based on the fantasy in which the comics circulate continuously with the release of all forms of media based on those stories, with many TV shows and video games directly linked to them.

A competition that has been going on for more than 70 years

In the long history of pop culture, there are very few rivalries as fiercely as the one between Marvel and DC, especially when you consider that both sides of this particular struggle were shaped by the same people.

When Marvel created Spider-Man in 1962, it was the successful DC character; Superman lights a candle in its twenty-eighth year, but one writer completely changed the future of Marvel, and instead of resigning and the company closing its doors, he ignited a competition that transcended the limits of its battles in the world of comic books to move to movie screens.

With every show of a movie or series, the conflict rages on the social media pages, and arguments and proofs are launched in an attempt to prove the identity of the idea thief or the imitator of characters.

The conflict between Marvel and DC began in the era when superhero movies were Hollywood's biggest productions. It wasn't just an extremely well-rounded competition but rather an attempt to inspire and nurture brand loyalty to what essentially amounts to being a product.

DC took off during the 1950s with virtually no competition. Its main characters jumped from radio to television within one evolutionary path. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the first generation of creators who built the Marvel universe became the same people behind the comics and comics, as the two creative companies cycled back and forth in an effort to keep up with each other.

1984 marked a historic moment when Marvel came close to taking over the entire DC Comics universe.

From that time to this day, years of competition and raging war to gain the love and attention of millions of readers, viewers and moviegoers.

Who wins this war? The DC company that inspired the dreams of so many boys and girls? Or is it Marvel that added its creative touch and changed the rules of the game in its favour, to create its own cinematic world?

Which one is better?

While both comic book publishers bring a fantasy world, Marvel brings more realism to the fantasy world, with an overdose of risk to spark excitement and suspense, so you're out in the open with super unique films like Guardians of the Galaxy. On the other hand, DC is better at giving dimensions to its characters by digging into their background, much like Batman.

The most tense debates and arguments in the comic book space today are which company has a better roster of heroes. Some people may prefer Marvel because it is more realistic and has its own storytelling quality, while others enjoy the depth of DC's characters and the backgrounds that embellish the various characters and justify their development.

We all know that both comic giants Marvel and DC are avidly reinforcing the presence of the superheroes we've come to know and love like Batman, Iron Man, Captain America, Superman, and more. However, in the opinion of many, Marvel is making better films that take advantage of DC's decline in popularity due to the lack of continuity and development within the expanding and interconnected universe. If you watch a Marvel production, you will notice that each movie or series seems connected to the parts that preceded it.

Epicstreams claim that one of the reasons the Marvel Universe characters are better in movies is that they give each of the heroes a form of the origin story to help increase anticipation for subsequent movie series. But most importantly for fans, it gave them time and space to get to know the characters fully and then fall in love with them. This is one of the coolest aspects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Another thing to keep in mind is that Marvel is primarily affiliated with Disney, and therefore has much more production capacity than DC, which makes films with Warner Bros. On the other hand, DC's production cannot be described as weak, as both the Batman and Superman series are very popular, in addition to the recent series of the "Suicide Squad" game.

Quality Comix put it succinctly, saying: DC Comics adds great depth to its characters in keeping with the original story as in the Batman superhero series. Compared to Marvel, which has quite a few areas to catch up with, it often relies on the same formats for its films by including a lot of comedy and tying other films together in the cinematic world. All films tend to have the same look, tone and feel, regardless of who is behind the camera. That's because these films are so interconnected and dependent on each other that the studio behind the films tends to have more power and influence than the director in charge. It seems that Marvel's production managers are appointed based on their ability and ability to implement the company's long-established vision, meaning that the selection of the work team does not test their ability to properly and convincingly bring the character to life.

As Marvel's iconic stories attract more fans, DC tries to imitate its rival's style but without understanding the secret of its success and development. Some variables have always warned that DC's days are numbered, but most of the time it comes with a last attempt, and through it succeeds in stealing and imitating one of the most important Marvel heroes.

In the end, it doesn't matter which one you really like. All you have to do is enjoy watching the creativity of the cinematic world. We've tried to highlight some of the key differences between Marvel comics and DC Comics to help people make their own decisions about which franchises they want to invest their time in.
