With the premier of the new Kenobi series getting closer and closer, fans are eager to hear more about one of the most anticipated Star Wars shows since the release of The Force Awakens. After the release of the Kenobi trailer, fans finally got to see a peek at the 6-episode series and of some of the characters that will appear alongside the all time fan-favorite Obi-Wan Kenobi. But one character that fans might not have noticed is the character running away before being stopped by Moses Ingram’s Inquisitor character, Reva, with a red lightsaber on Tatooine at the 1:19 mark of the Kenobi trailer. According to a leak, this will be a new Jedi character that is on a search for Obi-Wan Kenobi and is played by actor Benny Safdie.

According to Bespin Bulletin, Benny Safdie’s Jedi character is named Nari and is searching for Obi-Wan Kenobi, ending up on Tatooine while escaping capture by the Inquisitors. Reportedly, Benny Safdie’s Jedi character Nari is forced to reveal himself as a Jedi after witnessing Reva, the Fifth Brother, and even the Grand Inquisitor himself torturing innocent civilians. It is hypothesized that Nari is set on rebuilding the Jedi Order after its destruction in Revenge of the Sith. With Ewan McGregor himself stating that the Obi-Wan in the upcoming Kenobi series is a character that is “broken” and is someone who has “given up”, it only makes sense to bring in a different character that still has hope. It is even rumored that Obi-Wan is speaking to Benny Safdie's character, Nari, when he speaks the lines; "the fight is done. We lost."

Ever since Disney took over the world of Star Wars, fans have enjoyed numerous movies and streaming series featuring beloved characters, both new to the franchise and old fan favorites. But despite all of the new Star Wars content, very little has actually been centered around the Jedi. With series like The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and the animated series, The Bad Batch, all focusing more on the outlaws of the franchise with a few Force-sensitive characters popping up here and there.

With the upcoming release of Kenobi, it will be refreshing to see the story once again focus on the Jedi, along with the introduction of some new Jedi characters being brought into the world of Star Wars. Along with the supposed Jedi character Nari, fans are also introduced to a new strong, female villain, Reva, who works as an Inquisitor. For fans who have yet to watch the animated TV-series, Rebels, the introduction of the Inquisitors will be new. The Grand Inquisitor himself was the first Inquisitor to be introduced to fans, appearing in the premier of Rebels. The other Inquisitors seen in Rebels are the Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister who appear throughout Season 2, along with the Eighth Brother who makes a brief appearance before being dispatched by Kanan. Fans will be eager to see what new Inquisitors Kenobi will have to offer, along with the new Jedi, Nari.

There's really no telling at this point how large of a role Benny Safdie’s Jedi will have on the story of Kenobi. Will he accompany Obi-Wan on his adventures or only appear in a single episode? Either way, fans eagerly await May 25th when the Kenobi series finally premiers.
