Is it in the stars?

Pisces and the watery constellation

Pisces isn't my star sign, but because of Pisces season, I thought, why not provide some insight and big up the man dem? Pisces one of the many constellations of the zodiac. The sign itself is usually represented by a fish. Not because Jesus was a Pisces but because the name in the plural sense is Latin for fish. The Pisces constellation is one of the more dim constellations, much harder to see between Aries and Aquarius.

De Science:

Pisces is the 14th constellation in size, occupying an area of 889 square degrees. It is located in the first quadrant of the northern hemisphere (NQ1) and can be seen at latitudes between +90° and -65°. The neighboring constellations are Andromeda, Aquarius, Aries, Cetus, Pegasus, and Triangulum.

Pisces relates to the Zodiac family of constellations, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpius, Sagittarius, Capricornus, and Aquarius.

Pisces contains a single Messier object, the spiral galaxy Messier 74 (M74, NGC 628), and has ten stars with known planets. The brightest star in the constellation is Eta Piscium, with an apparent magnitude of 3.62. There is one meteor shower associated with the constellation; the Pisces.

Pisces include nine named stars. The star names approved by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) are Alpherg, Alrescha, Bélénos, Citadelle, Ebla, Fumalsamakah, Parumleo, Revati, and Torcular.

De Lore/mythos:

Pisces is associated with the Greek legend that Aphrodite and her son Eros either shape-shifted into forms of fishes to escape or were rescued by two fishes. According to Hyginus, Aphrodite, and Eros in the Greek version, while visiting Syria, fled from the monster Typhon by leaping into the Euphrates River and transforming into fishes. The Roman variant of the story has Venus, and Cupid (counterparts for Aphrodite and Eros) carried away from this danger on two fishes' backs. There is also a somewhat different origin tale that Hyginus preserved in another work. An egg rolled into the Euphrates, fishes nudged the egg to shore, after which the doves sat on the egg until Aphrodite (after that called the Syrian Goddess) hatched out of it. The fishes were then rewarded by being placed in the skies as a constellation.

De Opinion:

I love the Zodiac sign of Pisces. They are a very eclectic, dope, deep-loving bunch of people. Depending on one placement, whether it's your sun, moon, or rising sign, you could never tell a Pisces a mile away. Kind of like their constellation. I say this as a generalization; however, most Pisces tend to empathize and exhibit or project emotions felt around them. They kind of intuitively take on everyone's "energy" without realizing it. They have a knack for just "knowing." They can come off a tad emotional, but their intentions are always there. If you know a Pisces individual, please show them some love. The sign of Pisces is so related to its own constellation and zodiac personal references. They're almost intertwined. They are very generous and filled with such unapologetic love and intuition. How else would Aphrophite know to escape and transform as two fishes?

Anyone with placements with the Pisces sign can be seen as a symbolism of ultra-femininity. A Pisces can take on many forms of its own element, similar to its zodiac counterparts. Like a Cancer or a Scorpio, a Pisces "watery-like nature" can be symbolic and represent free movement, shapelessness, like an ability to adapt to anything. Rushing powerful waters that can erode anything with time solidifies as hard as ice, which can and will crack or melt under too much pressure. Water that can overflow and can cause mass damage, or water that can be of primary nourishment and substance. This sign is like the coolest know "shape-shifter" out of the bunch. They are also just meant for the arts and entertainment, ya know.
