Is it a dream or is it real?

premonitions or past life regression.

Is real life or is this just fantasy? Dreams are something we all have. How can you tell if it is just a dream or is it something more? You're asking yourself, what are you getting at? As a practicing Wicca, I have analyzed my own dreams for years. Now this isn't just one of those stories about how the things in our dreams are represented. This is my how to guide to tell when your dreams are something more than the normal dream.

Let us start with premonitions. There is some skepticism on this particular subject. Now there has been incidents where this phenomenon has been proven to be true. How can you tell if your dream is telling you the outcome of a situation that may or may not happen? Here are some pointers that I have picked up over the years. Firstly, if it feels real than it might be something real. As humans we have 6 key senses that guide us through life. Yes, I said 6. Many cultures believe in a 6th sense. Feeling, like intuition, is considered to be the 6th sense. Why should this be only accessed in the waking world? The answer is, it is not. It can be accessed in our dreams as well. I'll give you an example. I had a dream some years back about a concert I was going to. The tickets were going on sale on Friday. My dream happened on Thursday. I saw my sister, best friend, and myself standing in line waiting to be let into the big arena. Never had I been in that particular arena before because it had been newly built. I saw a car approach to the left. The car lights shined on us as we stood in the line that was supposed to be on the floor level of the arena. As soon as the car turned the lights off, I woke up. I felt the warm air still around me from being outside. I remember wearing a tank top in the dream as well. Mind you this concert was to take place in the January. I live around Philadelphia, PA. Anyone who lives in this area knows that it is usually freezing at that time of the year. That week was no exception. My sister and best friend went to her house to use her computer to buy the tickets. When they came back to our apartment, they had a rather interesting story to tell. About a week before a friend of ours wanted to join us at the concert. She asked my best friend that when they go on sale if she could include her. That Friday her and my sister were starting the transaction for the tickets. They had 3rd row tickets for 3. Then my sister reminder my best friend about our friend who wanted to go. Backtracking she added her in but lost the 3rd row seats. We ended up in the nosebleed section. Which for that particular arena was right below the press boxes on the side of the stage. Close but not so close. When the day came for the concert, the weather was abnormally warm for that time of year. So much so that I wore a glittery tank top to the concert and no jacket. We arrived at the arena and got in line. At that time, we didn't know we were in the line for the floor. I began to have a sense of Deja Vue. They made the announcement that the doors would be opening soon. The line we were in was the floor line. Other tickets had to get into the other line. Since we didn't have floor tickets, we moved. As soon as we got in place in the other line. A police car pulled up into a space to the left of me with its headlights directly on us. Now you are thinking to yourself that the whole situation was kind of ironic, but it doesn't support the premonition dream theory. But it does. Almost everything happened the way I had seen it, almost. You see in my dream there was only 3 of us. In reality there was 4. So, having the extra person changed some of the circumstances of the night. If we had just kept it the 3 of us, would it have been like my dream? I would say yes. It goes to show that the smallest change can alter the outcome. The feel of the dream was lifelike and set in a real situation. That in a nutshell is how a premonition dream is described. All the sense are present in the dream as well. There are no odd things coming out of nowhere. No weird things like dragons or other anomalies around. A realistic situation. You feel as though you are awake until you actually wake up. That is a premonition. Seeing something realistic happening in a dream state.

Let us now delve into a past life regression dream. A past life regression feels the same as a premonition dream. The difference is that it is set in a different time. Dreaming of a long ago past is one of the signs that you may just be having a past life regression. All the sense feels as if you are there. Although our logical minds have a hard time reasoning the dream, it still seems as though you are awake and living in this past. Sometimes our unexplained phobias are also a sign of a past life. Now there are some phobias, like the fear of heights, that are completely logical. There are some fears that defy the logic. Like having a fear of being hung or a deep-water fear when you have never seen a shark movie or anything like that. Again, I will relay an example. I was new to the Wiccan craft when I had a seeming abnormal dream. I was wearing a white gown. The kind you see in Medieval times. Climbing a large mountain, I sat on a rock to rest for a minute. I looked out over a valley that had a river running through it. A castle perched on a hillside across from me. A grey stone building with blue slated roof. I closed my eyes breathing in the fresh, mountain air. The scent of the woods mingled with the cool air and a faint scent of the water below. When I opened my eyes, I was in my bed, and it was still dark. I thought at first that maybe it was just a very heightened dream. Years later I met a man who was from the Transylvania Valley in Romania. He was a very interesting man to converse with. One day I told him of the dream I had some years back. He let me tell my story without any questions. When I reached the end, a strange look played on his face. I asked him what was wrong. He said to me that my dream would be impossible to do. His remark caught me off guard. I asked him to elaborate on this. His said that it was impossible because you couldn't climb that mountain in a white dress and not get mud on your clothes. I laughed at him telling him it was just a dream. It didn't mean anything. Oh, but it did. He began to explain his reasoning. He had been on the mountain himself. This caught my attention. Continuing on he said that the castle that was there is in ruins, and yes there was a river there that had dried up long ago. It was now a road. I astonished by his admission. How did he know? You see he grew up near there. He himself had climbed that mountain. My friend proceeded to tell me that the castle is Dracula's castle. I said to him that castle has a red roof. The one I saw was blue. He told me that the castle I was thinking of was Bran Castle. Which ended up being castle Dracula but there is another one farther north called Poenari Fortress. Which was the original castle Dracula. I wasn't so sure till I saw it on a show about abandoned places. The aerial footage showed everything I saw in my dream. I was flabbergasted. I could not believe I dreamed of a place that I could not have possible known about unless I had either went there or lived there. I knew it was a past life. Dreams have a way of opening up doors to parts of our minds that we as people may not be able to do in our waking life. I have had many dreams that have either predicted something or showed me something of the past. The question is, have you?
