The Mandalorian does something to people. It brings them back to a time when it seemed that Star Wars could (mostly) do no wrong. Arguably, it does a better job playing with the toys of the original trilogy than other recent releases have. This is thanks, in part, to its loveable characters, the most universally loved being The Child, known by many fans as "Baby Yoda." Thanks to this little fellow, there is a lot of merch, some of which harkens back to the 1990s. Perhaps you have heard the following familiar words from those good old commercials: "Cha cha cha chia!"

That is right. There is now a Chia Pet modeled after The Child. Some of you may have thought that Chia Pets were no longer a thing, but they are very much still alive and kicking. And with The Child joining the collection, this brand is sure to get at least somewhat of a boost.

It may feel odd seeing The Child without his green color, but he is sure to be surrounded by green after the seeds are watered. A TikTok video by Danielle Elizabeth (@terralime) depicting the process actually went viral. In the video, Elizabeth shows the process one step at a time, first giving the Chia Pet some water, then planting the seeds, and then having them grow in lush green glory. The video ends with Elizabeth chanting, "Baby Yoda, Baby Yoda..." The video gained 6.4 million views and 1.4 million likes. That is quite the reach that it has there.

Frankly, this Chia Pet is too adorable for this world. If you want to obtain one, it is available for purchase. Priced at $24.99, it is sure to be worth the investment if you take care of it. According to buyers online, Chia Pets can last from two weeks to a month before they need some replanting. The Child comes with seeds sufficient for as many as three plantings. So if you are into this sort of thing, you should go ahead and acquire this product!

On the series itself, The Child has been creating memorable moments during his travels with the Mandalorian himself, Din Djarin. Despite Din being the titular character, The Child has been the heart of the show. His very existence is what has given Din a warmer side than we may have initially expected. From the start, we saw just how much he cared for the safety of The Child, and the quest to bring The Child to safety has become the main thrust of the show. Sidequests here and there may take the characters to weird places, but at the end of the day, Din wants to take The Child to a suitable home. You can do the same with these Chia Pets that are modeled after him.

New episodes of The Mandalorian season 2 air Fridays on Disney+. Tune in to stay in the loop and see more of The Child!
