Exciting!

The Bad Batch Season 1 finale might have only aired just last week, but, instead of everyone reminiscing and looking back on it, all it has done is led to many Star Wars fans wanting more. A distinct void is waiting to be filled in everyone's viewing schedule now, so everyone's attention has now turned squarely towards the upcoming shows, specifically, The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

However, these are not the only shows getting a lot of attention at the moment. After two extremely successful seasons, fans have been waiting on news about Season 3 of The Mandalorian ever since Season 2 ended on that wonderful cliffhanger, and it looks like it's not too far off. A few days ago, we shared news given by Moff Gideon actor Giancarlo Esposito from an interview he did, in which he stated filming for Season 3 will commence shortly. Now, Greef Karga actor and '80s action star Carl Weathers has also shared some information himself. Not only did he confirm filming is scheduled to begin next month, but it appears he will once again be returning to the director's chair, as well as reprising the role of his character. He also made sure to omit any potential spoilers on plot details.

During an appearance at Steel City Con, the actor could not avoid discussing the next chapter, and confirmed:

"And so now, we're gonna start a new season of The Mandalorian, within the the next month. Yeah."

He also added:

"I get to be in front of camera again, and I get to direct again."

As many know, Weathers didn't just star in the show, he also directed "Chapter 12: The Siege," fourth episode in Season Two and twelfth episode overall, so we know he knows what he's doing, but it's unclear how many episodes he will direct this time around. Now that we know filming is due to begin soon, it won't be long before some sort of teaser is released, as well as a definitive release date.

Many believed we could have potentially seen The Mandalorian Season 3 arrive at some point later this year, but the updates from both Weathers and Esposito would suggest we aren't likely to see Season 3 until later next year. Whilst this may be a disappointment for fans, there's still going to be a ton of content to take our mind off the wait in the form of The Book Of Boba Fett, which is set to be released this winter. Plus, the Obi-Wan Kenobi series has reportedly wrapped filming recently. Add to that the recent trailer for Star Wars: Visions.

With all the recent and upcoming content, it's definitely a good time to be a Star Wars fan. Even though there's nothing out at the moment or anything coming out in the immediate future, we just have to have a little patience and allow Lucasfilm the time to get it right for us all to enjoy. Based on what we've seen so far, at least, we know the shows are in good hands and they are doing all they can to keep fans happy. Stories from the galaxy far, far away are not going anywhere anytime soon.

In the meantime, we have several comics covering more stories, including both new and old characters which you should definitely check out if you're looking for a distraction while waiting on the new shows releasing.

As always, though, we will continue to bring more news as and when it develops.

Until next time!
