Galaxy Z Fold 5

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will not be sold with an integrated S Pen like previous generations. Samsung would however have provided a convenient storage solution for those who buy the stylus separately as an accessory.

The famous Samsung S Pen has never been integrated into the range of foldable smartphones. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 was not released in 2022. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 will also not have one this year. Contrary to what some rumors announced several months ago, the stylus will not be included with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 this year, but it will be well and well compatible. Samsung has apparently planned that many users buy this accessory separately. He would have designed a shell to store the S Pen without risking losing it.

Given the size of the internal screen that should measure 7.6 inches, having an S Pen with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will be handy for those who work or want to draw, for example. Samsung would have prepared with a case dedicated to the S Pen. It would allow to store the stylus on the back of the smartphone. The leaker Ishan Agarwal actually shared some leaked press images of the next foldable smartphones.

Samsung wants you to buy an extra shell to store the S Pen purchased separately for the Galaxy Z Fold 5

We see the Galaxy Z Fold 5 protected in a kind of rubber shell. This is not just any shell because it offers a place to store the S Pen. A small notch allows you to slide it next to the photo module on the back of the smartphone which promises to be thinner and lighter than last year.

Samsung would have already planned to sell a shell of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 for users who bought the stylus in addition. This will represent a significant investment for those who have already paid around €2,000 to purchase the new foldable smartphone. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 may actually be very expensive, up to €2,299 for the 1 TB storage version. In comparison, the Galaxy S23 Ultra from €1,199 already incorporates the S Pen.

We are only a few days away from the announcement of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 that will be presented on July 26. If the images shared by Ishan Agarwal are real renditions created by Samsung, we will discover this new case with storage for S Pen next week.

Samsung wants you to buy an extra case to store the S Pen purchased separately for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. This decision by Samsung is generating mixed opinions among users. On the one hand, some see this as a smart business strategy, as it would allow Samsung to increase its sales by encouraging customers to buy not only the S Pen but also a compatible shell for safe storage. On the other hand, there is criticism of the additional cost to consumers. Some believe that the S Pen should be supplied with the Galaxy Z Fold 5, given the high price of the device itself. By requiring the purchase of an additional shell, some consumers may feel aggrieved, especially since other brands offer stylus included in the price of their foldable devices. Despite these reviews, it is likely that many technology enthusiasts and Galaxy Z Fold 5 range will eventually acquire this extra shell to take full advantage of the features of the S Pen, which offers a fluid and precise writing and drawing experience. Ultimately, the decision to purchase or not this shell will depend on the preferences and budget of each user.
